Discreetly located in a corner of the field with far reaching views of Dartmoor You may see wild deer, other wild life and birds as well as amazing star gazing skies. A comfortable property with king size bed and two sofas, living area, ensuite bathroom with walk in shower and complete kitchen with cooker (Hob and Oven) and fridge. An ideal get away Stags View cabin is a perfect escape for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the countryside in an eco friendly structure. Step into the cabin, where on a winters evening a fire can be set ready for you to light on arrival. The cabin is exclusively yours for your stay. From your king-sized bed, you will be able to watch the sun set over the valley, and watch buzzards flying over the field in front of you. If you are lucky, you'll see deer grazing, from which the cabin gets its stags view name. You will find all modern amenities in the cabin, mixed with up -cycled gems. My aim was to create a comfortable modern space within a rural structure and provide sustainable means of power , light and water, without compromising on facilities expected from a holiday home. All the materials used were to be of a rural Devon source, pre owned , up cycled and reclaimed . The walls are regency styled panelling made from doors with a wall of windows to the front capturing views of Dartmoor and the stunning sunsets. A beech floor from an old gym adds individuality to the space. The sitting area has comfortable sofas and a log burning stove with plentiful free wood supplied to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. A generous sized shower room finished to a high standard with hot and cold shower, plumbed toilet and plumbed basin add to everyday comfort. I provide freshly ground coffee tea and sugar and complimentary milk in the fridge. We deliberately do not have a tv in the cabin or WiFi. ( we can provide WiFi dongle for £10 , payable on arrival ) if necessary. Outside and apart from the views already mentioned is an outdoor dining area and barbecue space. I can provide a barbeque and charcoal for £ 10 ,or bring a disposable one with you. There is intentionally no vehicle access within 50 yards to maintain the wild feel to what is quite a unique experience, so parking is by the swimming pond. Infants are welcome, as are well behaved dogs. (please just check with me first before booking ) we make a charge of £15 for a dog guest payable at time of booking. I have intentionally ensured that there is no parking in the immediate area outside the cabin to preserve the seclusion and 'hideaway' aspects of the cabin. It also means that wildlife are much more likely to appear outside! I have installed motion sensor lights to help you in the dark, but you might find it helpful to use a torch too. During normal check-in hours, I am generally available to meet and welcome my guests and give some local Devon knowledge and recommendations, or just answer any questions you may have. When I cannot personally welcome guests there is a welcome manual on the table inside outlining how everything works. I am always contactable by text if there is anything needed, and I have a huge depth of local knowledge for recommending trips, less touristy spots and organising activities. You will be amazed at what you can do around the local area - from horse riding, mountain biking and hiking to climbing, surfing, yoga and basket weaving. Please don't hesitate to ask. The cabin is in the heart of South Devon and you will be amazed at how accessible every part of Devon is from here. Nearby is the picturesque village of South Brent with the lovely vintage Station House Cafe Bar, a local pub, take away and Co-op as well as the Dr's surgery and dentist. An award winning Gastro pub, the Turtley Corn Mill is also only a short walk down the hill. The famous artists town of Totnes is a 15 minute drive and driving in any direction takes in the coast and stunning countryside. Take in Dartmoor, The English Riviera, medieval Totnes, historical and buzzing Exeter, Elizabethan Plymouth, the beautiful coast and sandy beaches and we are even close enough to Cornwall that you can do a day trip to visit some of Cornwall's gems. Please just ask me and I can help you to plan an itinerary. Although having a car in South Devon is useful, don't worry if you don't have access to one. Buses to Exeter and Plymouth run from the top of the lane and trains are easily accessed a ten minute drive away. I can help with drop-offs and pickups by arrangement. As we are situated very near to the Devon Expressway, those with cars will be able to easily access the whole of Devon and even Cornwall. The A38 is 5 mins away making travel in any direction easy Stags view is very much a one off project and improvements to comfort and the eco aspect are ever evolving. I hope guests will appreciate this and enjoy each new addition. A long-time South Devon local, there is not much that I don't know about this area. Some of my most popular tours are spooky Dartmoor tours, taking in spots of ghostly happenings and Dartmoor prison and also child-friendly Dartmoor sightseeing trips, all with time for swimming and feeding the famous Dartmoor ponies. I charge for these trips at a daily rate and will be happy to tailor something to your specifications! Just let me know if you are interested. We do have two friendly dogs that you may see them pottering around. They are both friendly but they are not allowed in the accommodation. Ella is older (and the boss) Dottie is our puppy. But if you are not a dog lover, don't worry as they will not be in your way. We also have a ginger tabby but you will be lucky if you can find him.
