Minturno is situated in the most southern parth of Latina province, at about 80 Km from Naples and 150 from Rome. Its territory is bounded by Tirrenian sea, on the South-West, by the river Garigliano (which is the boundary betwenn the regions Latium and Campania) on the South, and by another valley nearby the Aurunci Mountains on the North. Minturno has ancient origins, aurunche and Roman. The current “Comprensorio Archeologico Romano di Minturnae”, with the Theatre, represents the proof of the roman ancient village, with the temple, the republican Hole, the imperial Hole, tabernae, the macellum and the Antiquarium. In the Minturno medieval center stand out for traditions and history the baronial Castle, the churches of S.Pietro, the SS.
