The Snug

The Snug is a beautiful annex to our main home , which is a listed property just off the A40. Set in the picturesque village of Goodrich Nr Symonds Yat and Ross on Wye, Near to the Forest of Dean It's easy to find, a perfect spot for 'stop over' or longer stay to enjoy this beautiful part of the world. Ideal for walking and cycling or to venture out to Monmouth and Ross on Wye with easy access to head further afield . We are 4 minutes drive from the fabulous Symonds Yat. Pets welcome on request The snug has its own spacious kitchen diner on the ground floor with table and chairs to seat four. A high chair also available for little ones. There are washing facilities and all you need for a comfortable stay self catering. An open plan stairwell leads to the first floor are the lounge with sofa bed and if a travel cot if required to suit your family needs. The cosy double bedroom connects directly to the bathroom with bath and over bath shower. Although it is possible to fit four adults in...you may like to make use of another double bedroom in the main house, subject to availability. Feel free to contact us for further details. You are welcome to wander around the garden and sit and enjoy the outdoor spaces and lovely views over farmland or sit and rest a while in the garden house. The kitchen is supplied with refreshments are provided and muesli for your enjoyment.There is a cafe just 2 minutes down the road 'Woods' that serve breakfasts if you want a treat.. We offer a good value for money experience and appreciate visitors have different needs and try our best to accomodate them.PLEASE NOTE OUR SPACE IS UNFORTUNATELY NOT SUITABLE FOR PHYSICALLY DISABLED AND DOGS ARE WELCOME ON REQUEST ONLY WITH AN EXTRA FEE OF £5 PER NIGHT We have other rooms available in the house if there are greater numbers that want to stay near to eachother Parking is easy outside 'The Snug' or if you prefer there is off road parking at the rear of the property down the bottom of the lane that runs beside the house. You are welcome to enjoy the garden and seating area or Summer House and make friends with Martin , Nicola the Sturgeon and their friends in the pond! During your stay feel free to give us a knock if you need anything or contact us by text if you prefer or if we are not around. We are happy to help you but equally happy for you to have your privacy respected and not interupt your stay. There is a comprehensive guide to activities available in the Snug The village we live in has a strong community feel with two pubs a very active village hall with full programme of events..For the active there is a tennis club and village cricket ground..and table tennis club...and my favourite, the Community Village Choir... and of course our own castle! We are blessed by having access to a vast array of activities and experiences in the Forest of Dean Having a car is the best way to get around and enjoy the area but we have a bus stop by the house which can take the strain if you prefer. Train travel not so easy...the local stations...all about half hour away are Lydney Newport or Hereford. Lots of the more energetic come here to walk ... there are endless beautiful walks to enjoy.... cycling is another way to experience the area... The kitchen is fully equipped offering everything you may need to self cater. Our local pub literally across the road.
