Breakfast is provided at Villa St Simon just across the road as well as DVDs, games, books and a cellar with a pool table and table tennis. Our great joy is to share our passion for the French culture with its food and wine with our guests. With more than 10 years of local knowledge we are more than happy to pass on our experiences and tips for the area. On demand we arrange wine tastings and coached wine tours to Medoc, St Emilion, Sauternes and Cognac as well as to local chateaux in Côtes de Blaye and Bourg. Villa St Simon apartments are in the centre of Blaye, 200m from the Estuary "La Gironde" and 500m from the UNESCO world heritage site "La Citadelle de Blaye". All restaurants and shops are in walking distance, so you can park your car and explore the town on foot. Blaye is only 45 minutes from Bordeaux centre, from St Emilion and 20 minutes ferry ride from the world famous wine area Medoc. We can arrange a shuttle from and to Bordeaux airport or station. The closest trais station is St André de Cubzac and there is a bus (201) that will take you from there to Blaye. Blaye is one of the most authentic French towns that you can visit and has a great food market on Wednesday and Saturdays. The local people are very friendly and accommodating. The climat is mild in winter and pleasantly warm in summer. Great base to tour the area and perfect stopover between Spain and England, Belgium and Holland.
