Luxury, 4* Self-Catering Studio (area = 24m²) , offering ground floor accommodation for two people. The Studio is situated between the picturesque seaside village of Ballygally and historic hamlet of Cairncastle with views of the Irish Sea and Antrim Hills. Larne Harbour is 10 minutes from here and both Belfast City and Belfast International airports are approximately 40 minutes. The Studio is the perfect base to explore Northern Ireland’s beautiful scenery and exciting attractions. BallyCairn Studio is furnished with all the facilities and equipment needed to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible.Decorated and furnished to a high standard, it reflects Dee and Johnny's passion for Arts and Crafts, with original artwork on the walls and handmade ceramic tiles adorning the bathroom. A complimentary food hamper, similar to that featured in the property listing, is provided for guests who book 3 day stays or longer. Ingredients for a continental style breakfast provided for 2 night bookings. Free Wi-Fi and on site parking provided. Guests have access to the gardens around the Studio. We retired from teaching in 2016 to pursue our dream of running a business in hospitality. Since then we have delighted in welcoming people from near and far, as guests to BallyCairn House Bed & Breakfast, The Barn @ BallyCairn self-catering cottage and BallyCairn Self Catering Studio. We love meeting people and look forward to extending a warm, friendly welcome on your arrival. As we live in the adjoining property where we run the Bed and Breakfast, we are always on hand to offer advice and help in planning your holiday itinerary. Our main hobbies are art, gardening and travelling. Over the past 10 years, since we built BallyCairn House, we have enjoyed developing the gardens around the property which guests are welcome to explore and enjoy during their stay. Recently we have also started to create our own original artwork - keep a look out for Dee's ornately decorated, handmade, wooden characters 'The Loggerheads' as well as her beautiful 'BirDees' inspired by the garden birds which inhabit the gardens. The local landscape also is the inspiration for Johnny's handmade block prints. This accommodation is an excellent base for spending several days, touring and exploring: East Antrim, The Gobbins, Carrickfergus Castle, The Glens of Antrim, The Ulster Way, Slemish Mountain, the world famous Causeway Coastal Route, Fairhead, Kenbane Castle, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Giant's Causeway, The Dark Hedges, Dunluce Castle and the many exciting places of interest and attractions in Belfast City. Nearby there are several restaurants and pubs, offering tasty Irish cuisine to suit all budgets. Try out 'Boxer Jim's' Guinness pie in the local pub (Matties) where there is traditional live music on Thursday evenings. Also close by in Ballygally Castle, visit the ghost room and view one of the stunning Game of Thrones Doors before enjoying a fine meal in the restaurant. Nearby Cairndhu Golf Club and The Halfway House Hotel also offer tasty food. Find out about 'The Armada Tree' in Cairncastle and its connection with the sinking of The Girona and the tragic fate of 'Marina Jane' who lived on Ballygally Beach in the late 19th century. Glenarm Castle, a 10-minute drive north, has an amazing wall garden and delightful tearoom. Carnfunnock Country Park is a splendid venue for an afternoon stroll. Travelling a little further north, the village of Carnlough, with its quaint harbour and Waterfall Walk is worth a visit and after a hearty walk you can relax in one of the traditional pubs or the historic Londonderry Arms Hotel. In response to the Covid-19 situation we are doing everything we can to protect our guests and ensure their safety during their stay. This involves closing the Studio and The Barn for at least one full day after guests leave to ensure a deep clean of the entire premises can be carried out before the arrival of new guests. We will adhere to industry guidelines and recommendations in respect of cleaning and changeover preparations. Guests are able to self check in at the Studio and The Barn. We will be available to contact by telephone at any time during your stay.
