Wallabies Rest
"Wallabies Rest" is a fully self contained and spacious glamping tent with a large elevated deck in the central tablelands of NSW. An easy 30 minutes drive north of Lithgow and within one hour of the vineyards of Mudgee. The tent is located on a small farm and adjacent to the Ben Bullen State Forest with assured privacy and rural farm views containing a fully equipped kitchenette with coffee, tea, milk, sugar, etc. TV with DVD player and sound system with blue tooth are also included. Late in the afternoon you can sit on the deck and watch the kangaroos and wallabies, hence the name "Wallabies Rest" and in the morning wake to native bird calls. There are plenty of bush walking or horse riding options in the State Forest adjacent. A secure paddock is available if you wish to bring your horses. You have complete access to the glamping tent deck and the surrounding area including the fire pit. Tracey and Peter show guests through the glamping tent on their arrival. The farm house is around 300 metres from the tent and we are available most afternoons/evenings to answer any queries. The location makes it ideal for day trips and experiences within the region, including the stunning Capertee and Newnes Valleys, Bathurst, Lake Wallace, Rylstone and the old gold mining town of Sofala. There are numerous quaint country pubs, food retailers, and restaurants in the area. Driving would be the preferred way to see to the many local attractions. Please note we have an elevation above sea level of 870 metres, this means it can get quite cold in winter so please bring warm clothes however the bed does have electric blankets.
