Pickmere Country House is a Georgian grade ll listed building dating back to 1772, originally built as a farmhouse, it was the largest of its kind in Cheshire. Commanding picturesque views over the surrounding countryside the house is situated in the centre of the village of Pickmere. Evening meals are served Mondays to Thursday. Weekend dinners, lunches and afternoon teas by prior arrangement. We are fully licensed selling a selection of wines and also beers from a local micro brewery. There is a pub within easy walking distance and also some great pubs and restaurants all within an 8 minute drive. We are situated just 8 minutes drive from Knutsford and 6 minutes from Northwich and because of our proximity to Warrington, Chester, Liverpool and Manchester is ideally placed for both business and leisure. We are just 4 minutes drive from M6 junction 19, 10 minutes from M56 junction 10, 20 minutes from Manchester Airport and convenient for Radbroke Hall, Booths Hall, Birchwood, Daresbury and Gadbrook Park Business Parks. There is off road car parking and bicycles can be housed securely. We have 11 bedrooms, 8 are en suite. 5 bedrooms are superior doubles with king size beds, 1 standard double, 1 family room, 1 double room in the garden annex (suitable for guests with dogs and/or who do not wish to climb the stairs) and a single and a small double which share a bathroom also a single with private bathroom. Free wifi available throughout the house. Breakfast is served between 7:00 to 9:00 Monday to Friday and 8:30 to 10:00 Saturday and Sunday in our dining room and costs £10 per person. We offer a full English breakfast and a selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, fruit juice, toast, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Special diets are catered for. The guest lounge has comfortable seating, a flat screen TV, a small library, a piano, children's’ toys, card and board games and a gas burning log fire. We also cater for small business meetings, private functions and wedding parties in our guest lounge and dining room. The small garden has a south facing terrace where guests can sit out in the summer and enjoy a pot of tea, a glass of Pimms or Prosecco. Guests have use of the dining room and sitting room as well as their own rooms. The guest house is fully licenced and guests can enjoy a glass of wine or a locally produced beer as well as a range of soft drinks. We are here most of the time and can assist guests with their travel/sight-seeing arrangements. Guests can take a 5 minute walk down to Pickmere Lake in the village. There is a path right around the lake, which takes about 45 minutes - walking boots or wellingtons recommended. There is a local bus, which visits Pickmere 5 times a day (not on Sundays) from Knutsford and Northwich. Nearby there are trains - please contact us for the best option. Taxis should be ordered in advance. Guests arriving by train from London should book their tickets to Hartford (changing at Crewe) and prebook a taxi to meet you. We have a carpark with enough spaces for 1 car per room.
