Le Vieux Couvent is a large country with a heated swimming pool and can be heated for a charge. There are many areas around Le Vieux Couvent to relax from the heated swimming pool, terrace overlooking the gardens and countryside views two large lounges with access to free WiFi and free-sat TV, X Box, board games, table tennis and outdoor badminton. Guests can pick from the kitchen garden seasonal fruit and vegetables. Countryside walks and large gardens to take in fresh air. The large kitchen dinner seats 16 guests and comes fully equipped with 3 coffee machines and coffee grinder. A large range cooker with 6 burners . All bed linen and bed quilts and bathroom towels are supplied for guests including bathroom towels. Spare bed linen is available in the laundry room on the ground floor, swimming pool towels are a supplied. A washing machine and tumble dryer facilities are in the laundry room with irons and ironing boards. All Covid-19 cleaning protocols are carried out before your arrival to keep you safe. We have Cafe Des Amis opposite Le Vieux Couvent which provides daily fresh bread and basic groceries. They serve coffee and drink and an eatin menu must book in advance and a takeaway menu including homemade takeaway pizzas. Post Office services. ☆ Ground Floor • Kitchen. The swimming pool area is fenced and alarmed for safety. Pool furniture. Dogs are not allowed in the pool area. Entire home, this includes 3 ensuite bedrooms and two bedrooms sharing a family bathroom. There are 2 double bed settee's in the upstairs lounge making it upto 16 to sleep. The large walled and enclosed garden which has a heated swimming pool and can be heated for a charge and for your exclusive use only. Your host Carol stays in a small house in the grounds and is unobtrusive. But there to help with any queries and tend to the swimming pool and gardens. The small community village of Deviat is South of the Charante and provides a beautiful tranquil setting for a relaxing family group break, meeting up with friends. Going to a wedding nearby. Family Birthday Celebrations. There is a wide range of activities available in the area, such as canoeing, fishing, and wake boarding with lakeside and riverside beaches to relax on. A castle to explore. There are varied activities and opportunities to enjoy days out or just chill and relax at Le Vieux Couvent and have a Barbacue which is brick built. There is parking on-site we can accommodate 2 cars in the grounds extra cars can park free in the village square carpark just outside the walled entrance opposite Le Vieux Couvent. Transport links from Airports Bergerac, Limoges and Bordeaux which is a 50 minute drive to Le Vieux Couvent. Train links TGV from Paris to Angoulême train station is 2 hours We are a 25min drive south of Angouleme to Le Vieux Couvent. Car hire is available from the airports and train stations. Having a car is advisable to make the most of exploring the local areas. Nearest shops and small supermarket is Blanzac 4km away. Chalais is 10km and Barbezieux 15 km for large shopping this is next to N10 Guests are not allowed to smoke inside Le Vieux Couvent. Smoking is permitted on the Terrace and in the gardens surrounding the property and the swimming pool areas but you must dispose of all cigarette buts and ash. No glasses or glass bottles are to be used in the swimming pool area plastic glasses are supplied for use in swimming pool area. Dogs are allowed but guests must clear and dispose of all dog foul in the bin provided outside near the main entrance gate. Dog owners must take responsibility for their dogs toileting needs and to be reminded children will be playing in the grounds and on the grass. Dogs are not allowed in the pool area. The large house sleeps 16 people and we have Covid-19 cleaning protocols in place to keep you safe during your stay. The house is old built in 1853 with bundles of Character with wood beams and two wood burners. Fully central heated for those colder months.
