A beautiful rustic cottage, at the foot of the Quantock Hills an area of outstanding natural beauty making it an excellent base to explore the surrounding area. Two double bedrooms upstairs, main bedroom with en-suite shower and toilet. Downstairs can sleep two on a pull out sofa bed and there is a downstairs bathroom with bath and toilet. There are area's to be aware of for young children and elderly folk, stone floors, steps and uneven surfaces also lower beams. WiFi and TV are in place. There is a lovely private garden with steps leading up to a lawned area with mature boarders, flowers and shrubs. A covered outside area if you are a smoker. If not, then just somewhere to enjoy the view of the garden without getting wet. There is a key safe for guests access to the property but always available via telephone. There is a quaint village tea room, two cosy village pubs, newsagent, library, chemist, local convenience store (co-op.) Chinese takeaway, hairdressers, butchers, farm shop, brewery. Steam train. Children's park area. Stunning view of the surrounding area and beautiful country walks from the front door. Bishops Lydeard is set at the foot of the Quantock Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty which are great for walking, horseriding, mountain biking and nature watching. The north coast of Somerset is close by for fossil hunting, enjoying the beach and coastal walks. On the edge of the village itself, there is a steam train line that runs all the way to Minehead on the coast which stops along the way - including at Dunster, where you can explore the castle, grounds and historic village itself, it makes a wonderful day trip for all ages. Exmore, with its beautiful landscapes is easily accessible. There are charming villages and excellent pubs to enjoy along the way. The nearest train station is 5.5 miles away, (10 minutes by car.) At Taunton this is the main line route to London Paddington & Penzance.
