Your hosts are Mark and Jen. Jen works on call as an in home care giver for the elderly. Mark works from home. Both have held a number of interesting positions ranging from Dairy farming to sales and all sorts in between. The property has a large section and an orchard with fresh fruit when in season, a very friendly pet sheep, Johnny, who mows the orchard, 2 very friendly cats, 2 occasionally industrious chickens. Room is light and sunny, there is ample parking for your car and even the boat Our property is hidden away down a private drive giving one a sense of being away from the hustle and bustle yet only a short 10 min walk to the information center and main shopping center of town with its many interesting and diverse shops and eateries. There are many wonderful walks in the area including the famous Karangahake Gorge walk/cycle way. Experience the Goldmine experience. Tours depart daily from the information centre. The room is fully self cater however tea and coffee are supplied. along with kitchen ware and linen. We are located only 11km from Waihi Beach for some very good fishing and swimming too and only 30km from Whangamata. this makes it the perfect place to stay over the Beach Hop too. Waihi is centrally located making it the perfect location to base your stay on and around the Coromandel, Bay of Plenty area. The room can sleep up to 5 people, there is a Queen bed for 2 guests and an additional portable full size Queen air bed which does not lay on the floor but unfolds to a normal hight and size queen bed, see the pictures. then there is the sofa bed which is only really suited for a child. when booking with more that 2 guests please advise which bedding you require. There is a cot and high chair available upon request. Guests are welcome to wander and relax in the garden, pick a bit of fruit if the time is right. The Spa pool is available to use but it would be appreciated if the spa was not used after 10pm. The laundry is available for guest use and there is also a drier, just ask either Jen or Mark. There will usually be someone home to greet guests personally upon their arrival and answer any questions. If for some reason we are unable to be there to greet you upon your arrival there will be easy to follow directions on the main door providing easy directions to access your room. Mark and Jen’s home is located in Waihi, Waikato, New Zealand. Gilmore Lake is a short stroll down the road, a weekly remote sailing boat club meet which is always fun to watch. The Gold mine Pit Rim walk is both a good walk and informative too. See the old Cornish Pump-house which stands proudly at the top of town. Driving is easy and town is only a 10 minute walk. There are many wonderful walks close by. There is a taxi service too if required. With prior arrangement we can provide transport to some locations
