This Atelier is a private anex near the main house with a private entrance. It has a small hall, a private bathroom and a bedroom with a nice view. It is a small studio for a short stay while traveling through Portugal. Ofcourse, always welcome to stay longer but than we recommend a stay in one of our Bell Tents with private bathunit or the Owl House. The Atelier has a double bed max. capacity 2 persons The Atelier is one of the stays at Dominio Vale Flores. A small studio with private bathroom (shower, toilet, bassin) and a double bed. A lovely cosy place for a short stay. You can enjoy all Dominio Vale Flores has to offer. Being a guest at Dominio Vale Flores and staying at the Atelier, you can enjoy a fresh dip into the swimmingpool (9x3)and also a tabletennis table, soccertable and a trampoline are ready to use. In September we are planning to open our lounge where fresh meals, healthy snacks and drinks are served. As this project isn't finished yet, we preared a 'livingroom-in-the-field' with an honesty bar, some seats and plenty of magazines to read. Your breakfast can be served here as well. Around Dominio Vale Flores For the active, several hiking and biking trails are there to explore. Dominio Vale Flores is located on the Pelgrim's route to Fatima (45 km) and Santiago de Compostela in Spain. The trails are flat to hilly and surrounded by ancient old olive trees, vineyards and farmland. Dominio Vale Flores is centrally located and close to the A1 motorway. It is an ideal location to discover a beautiful part of Portugal. We love to visit the characteristic towns of Tomar, Caldas da Rainha, Santarem and Golegao. The weekly markets are always worthwhile to visit. Fruits and veggies, chickensrabbits, flowers, bread and fish, many products available and strolling those markets is an experience itself. Ofcourse a typical 'churros' or chicken piri piri should be tried! Within an hour you are in the centre of Lisbon. This also applies to the beautiful beaches on the Atlantic. And don't miss the nearby cities like Tomar, Obidos, Golegao. So many things to explore nearby. Santarem has a trainstation with efficient railway connections to Lisbon,Coimbra, Porto and other cities. A pleasant way to travel the country as well. We, Daniel and Diederieke, will host you. We developed our land and we live here as well with our 3 boys. Our Dutch-South African background blends in with the Portuguese way of life. We have a tourism and hospitality background and we love to welcome you to our Dominio Vale Flores. We are here if needed but you can enjoy your rivacy as well. As we are located in the country side a rental car makes it easier to go around. If you just want to stay at our place to relax, you can take the train to Santarem and a transfer can be arranged. From the airport to Dominio Vale Flores it is about 45 minutes. A transfer can be arranged (additional costs) Not 100% ecological but... 100% aware On our quinta we are aware of nature and the environment. Seems logical to us. The premise 'use what you have' is an importnat principle for us. Although we can not operate completely ecological, we do try to take the utmost account of nature. In the bathrooms we seperate waste water (grey water) from basin and shower and is filtered naturally and used for irrigation for the garden. We grow our own veggies and herbs and many of the fruit trees are planted by us. The harvest is used for lunches and snacks in the lounge. Our aim is to eat and drink what the season provides. We use many resources offered by nature. Firewood of pruned olive trees, leaves and garden waste is stocked to become compost, garden flowers for the decorations and the water comes partly from our own source. It forms the base of our 'use what you have' thoughts and meanwhile we try to expand those possibilities.
