This room is on the upper floor of the stilted house but is accessed via a wooden bridge at garden level. It offers an authentic feel of how Thai people lived in wooden houses long ago with terracotta walls, wooden walls & floors. If you would like to stay with a larger group (up to 6 - 8 people), you can send us a message and inquire for availability). We also offer 2 rooms in a modern tropical style building separated from our own villa by a 15 meter long pond and another detached stilted wooden traditional Thai house with a very spacious room, walk-in-closet, luxury bathroom, private bathroom and superb views with absolute privacy. In addition to your large private balcony, you can enjoy the large, lush tropical garden full of bird-life. It offers 2 Thai pavilions and a communal deck next to the creek. Throughout the premises you can enjoy free WiFi. We enjoy hosting and giving you a place to escape to and yet you can enjoy Chiang Rai’s charming city and people. Come and go when you like, interact or stay quiet, eat when you want and sleep when you feel like it. Yet close to the heart of the city, our location and surroundings are tranquil, green and full of bird life. We are only 800 meters from the highway at the outskirts of a typical Thai village. Directly from our location you'll find rice fields, rural roads, hiking trails and 2 scenic waterfalls at biking distance and also the famous Black House Museum (900 meters). We are close to the vibrant area of a university with many shops, restaurants and markets. Our place is an excellent base to explore the highlights of Chiang Rai province as most points of interest are north and south of the city: Doi Mae Salong (authentic Chinese settlement on a mountain ridge), tea & coffee plantations, hill-tribe villages, Burmese and Laotian border (towns), the impressive Mekong river bordering Laos, Doi Tung Royal gardens and many more... You can self-explore by motorbike or we can offer you a private tour you will not forget! We offer the possibility to rent motorbikes to explore the beautiful surroundings. Or use our free bicycles. The Black House museum (900 m) is at walking/cycling distance. We provide maps to 2 nearby scenic waterfalls with the beautiful Thai countryside as a back-drop. Downtown Chiang Rai can be reached easily by motorbike or we can arrange a (meter) taxi for you. Or use Uber or Grab-taxi. If you like to travel as a local: just stroll to the main road and jump on one of the local buses that pass every 15 - 20 minutes bringing you directly to downtown Chiang Rai (THB 20). Breakfast is not included but we can make something really tasteful for you with freshly brewed organic coffee or tea at a fair price.
