Our private self catering cottage is newly renovated and tastefully furnished, it has a lovely sun downer deck with BBQ/Braai facilities. ....overlooking fields of ostriches and mountains in the distance. There is a hammock in the private garden for you to hang out in. The double bed has an electric blanket for winter evenings (June-Sept). The TV lounge has a sofa bed . This cottage is wheelchair friendly. The river walk is just 5 mins walk away and beaches/ restaurants a five min drive away. This newly refurbished cottage can sleep two people and a third person on the sofa bed if necessary. It has a mini kitchen and a braai\ bbq area in the private garden. You can sit on the deck enjoying sundowners and watching ostriches in the farmlands. Guests will have free safe parking, free Wi-Fi, private garden with BBQ facilities and a newly refurbished shower/toilet that is wheel chair friendly. If you are a kite surfer, then we have facilities to wash and dry your kit, plus a lock up storeroom. There is safe parking for boats with hose pipe to wash engine off. We will be there when you arrive to welcome you and give you a complimentary map of the village. Thereafter, we leave you to enjoy your holiday and if you have an queries or encounter any problem...we are there at the office and info centre to help you at any time. You will love this small, friendly, safe, quaint and beautiful village set alongside the mighty Breede River and the Indian ocean. It's a popular kitesurfers destination and there are whales in the bay between May and October. Fishing, birdwatching, hiking, cycling , river trips to bush pubs/pizza place will keep you entertained. Book a few nights to explore. There is an adventure centre for hiring watersports equipment and during Dec to April we have a kitesurfing instructor in the village. Within an hours drive from Witsand there are vineyards, fabulous scenic drive to Barrydale , De Hoop nature reserve - a world heritage site and the historical town of Swellendam/Bontebok Nat park. Witsand does not have public transport....you will need to be self-drive. Once in the village it's easy to walk, if you don't want to drive, between beaches, shops, restaurants etc. etc. We have bikes that you can hire. We ask guests to recycle in bin provided. We use solar power to heat the water. And Grey water for the lawn.
