The River House

This beautiful, spacious home has been in our family for years. The property rests on a large piece of wooded acreage and is 200 yds. from a private beach on Schroon River, and also within ten minutes of the Schroon Lake beach. This home is for guests that are looking to have a relaxing get away. It is not to be rented for any type of party or event. We can not tolerate damage done to the home because of partying. You will be responsible for any damage done to the house. The house has two bedrooms that can sleep two adults each. Our upstairs loft has two full beds perfect for kids, or other adults. There is also a sofa bed located in the living room. There are two bathrooms in the house, one off the master bedroom and another centrally located for easy use. Sheets and towels are provided for your convenience. The kitchen is fully stocked, ready for your basic cooking needs. Enjoy grilling out on our big deck or sitting around the fire pit. (wood provided alongside our barn, until it runs out) Don't forget to bring your bathing suit where you can enjoy our swimming hole, kayaks and floating tubes. We would be happy to check you in, but if arrivals are very late, guests can check in themselves. There are a few other Airbnb rentals on this large piece of property. (35 acres) In the summer, you may see these guests by the river, and some of them also have access to the kayaks. The path that goes to the river passes by the Riverhouse, so other guests have permission to walk past the Riverhouse to the river. There is a large, detached garage behind the Riverhouse. This is a vintage car garage where cars are refurbished. Occasionally an owner will be working on a car. This person is an owner and will not be there all the time, nor will you be bothered by him. The garage will be closed up and locked most of the time, but he may be there occasionally to work on a car. The river house is located near many tourist attractions such as Gore Mt. (40 minute drive), Whiteface Mt. (50 minute drive), North Creek Railway (30 minute drive), Keene Valley (30 minute drive), Lake Placid (40 minute drive), Lake George (45 minute drive), Fort Ticonderoga (20 minute drive), Vermont Bridge (45 minute drive). Provided in the home, is much helpful literature regarding the house itself but also the local area. The Adirondack park is full of exciting adventures, great restaurants and fun activities. Please utilize the literature for your convenience. We are so glad you chose to enjoy our property. Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with some house rules to ensure the best proper care for our Adirondack home. We are pleased to let you know that the riverhouse now has WiFi. The password will be posted in the house and we hope you enjoy this newly acquired amenity. There is one OUTDOOR video surveillance camera facing the parking area and house. There are absolutely no indoor cameras. Please: ~No Smoking ~No Pets ~NO PARTIES or events ~No shoes worn in house; please take shoes off in mudroom - there is a hose outside to rinse feet off in the summer ~Please do not move furniture ~Please enter and exit through back doors only. Sliding door off of dining room may be used to eat out on deck. ~Please rinse feet off and dry before coming inside after river fun and activities. ~Please put all trash in sealed trash bag in garbage can in garage for pick up. ~Please no candles ~Please do not allow dryer to run when you are not home. ~Please supervise small children and respect furniture and property. ~Please be conservative with water usage. ~Please turn lights off when not home. ~Please replace something if you use it up. ~Please don't leave dirty dishes in the sink. ~Please put camp fire out with hose before bed. Campfire wood is located on the side of the big barn, if any is left. Check-in is anytime after 3pm Check-out is 11am Things you might want to know... The house is on a large piece of property that is all family owned and operated. The house is a partial two-story with a loft. Guests must be able to climb steps to access loft. Also, swimming hole and property paths are shared with other guests. Please no - diving off of the floating dock Swim at your own risk Please feel free to use the Kayaks located at the river - they are a first come first serve basis - shared by guests and family. Please do not take Kayaks off of the river to other locations. Please be aware of the Schroon river falls located 500 ft from swimming hole - avoid taking kayaks over falls. Kayaking up the river is a great secluded adventure. Kayaks usually get put in storage after Columbus Day.
