The G-Place Chalet is as luxurious as it is cozy and comfortable. Enjoy your cottage vacation with up to eight people on a pristine lake with the finer things like a gourmet kitchen, indoor fireplace, baby grand piano, pool table, screened porch, hammocks, hot-tub, outdoor shower, outdoor fire pit, paddle boat, kayak, dock, and beach. Perfect for families! The G-Place Chalet is situated on an incredibly beautiful, spring-fed lake in the north Gatineau region. With no public boat access, the lake is relatively quiet with neighbours often waving as they cruise by on their pontoon boats and mobile docks. We know it as "the cottage" but it has all of the amenities of a luxury home and has something for everyone: budding chefs, beach-lovers, music aficionados, outdoor enthusiasts, fishers, gamers, and those who just want to relax. Start your day by freshening up in the private outdoor shower, taking in a breath of fresh air. Prepare breakfast in the gourmet kitchen and enjoy your meal on the deck overlooking the lake. Turn on the tunes and head down to the lower deck to relax on the lounge chairs, then cool off with a dip in the lake. If you're feeling energetic, you can play a spirited game of badminton or throw the frisbee around. For some quiet time, take out the kayaks or paddle boat and go fishing, or maybe you'd prefer to grab your book and curl up on a hammock in the shade. When the sun starts to set, slip into the hot tub to get the evening started right. Once your appetite hits, grill up some grub on the BBQ and have a delicious meal by candlelight in the screened porch. Finish up the evening by the piano, or head to the games room for some billiards, foosball, darts and music. Lather, rinse, repeat! Guests have access to the whole property with the exception of the garage and a few locked closets. One of us will endeavour to greet you upon your arrival to show you around the property and let you know the ins and outs. We will not be physically present throughout your stay, but we will be available by telephone and email in the event that you have questions. Our lovely lake boasts plenty of flora and fauna. We have feeders that attract many different kinds of birds. For those that like to fish, we've caught large & smallmouth bass, pike and lake trout. If you like to explore the outdoors there are plenty of options including local white water rafting at Bonnet Rouge (2km away), a White-tailed Deer Interpretation Center, local hiking trails, a trail called Pont de Pierre that has a natural whirlpool carved out of a massive boulder, and another trail leading to a beautiful waterfall called Chute Rouge where you can also have a picnic. The chalet is just over 1.5 hours from downtown Ottawa. We have a driveway that can comfortably park several vehicles. Maniwaki is about 20 minutes by car and has everything from major grocery stores, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire, SAQ (liquor/wine), restaurants and casse-croûtes for authentic poutine (our favourite is called La Fringale on rue des Oblats). We have Wi-Fi with satellite Internet which is good enough to stream movies online, but may be intermittently unavailable with inclement weather. We also have a DVD player, Apple TV and HDMI connectivity. We do not have cable television. If you would like to bring a pet, please contact us in advance to your booking.
