The apartment is situated in the lovely, quiet village of Madalena do Mar. it is ideal for famillies or couples looking for a quiet getaway close to everything. Here you can enjoy a priveleged space next to banana trees, cliffs and the Atlantic ocean. Watch beautiful sunsets from the varanda, simply paradise! Just you and nature, no traffic, no noise, fresh air. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. There are 2 bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a step in bath. The lounge and dining area has comfortable sofas, a dining table and Cable TV with a range of international channels. There is free Car Parking space. Free Internet Wireless Access. The varanda has beatiful ocean and cliff views, perfect for reading, purely contemplating the horizon or sunbathing! If you love the sea and swimming, then just throw a towel over your shoulder and walk down to the beach, where you can relax under the palm trees at the local beach bar (Dona Maria). We are located in a semi-rural area very quiet and peaceful, please do not expect big infrastructural establishments (malls, supermarkets, etc) those are normally in city areas. Nonetheless there are two good supermarkets in the proximities of the village. There is one restaurant below the apartment and another 2 within walking distance. Madalena do Mar is a sunkissed strip of land between the sea and the mountain. Surrounded by banana plantations and a beautiful sea front - ideal for jogging or walking. From november to april, the sun sets directly in front of the house - absolutely breathtaking! You will need your own transport if you plan to do some sighseeing. However, we can arrange to pick you up at Funchal International airport for 30€. If you wish us to do so please confirm your travel details 3/4 days before your arrival in Madeira Island. By Taxi You can pick up a Taxi in the airport to Madalena do Mar, that will cost approximatly 50€ and take arround 40 minutes. Public Transports If you choose a public transport, pick up the aerobus from the airport to Funchal (every 30 minutes and costs approx. 5€ per person). Then get a bus to Ribeira Brava (expresso) and then another one to Madalena do Mar. (the total cost is about 10,30 euros per person). No need for heavy clothing and thick coats though, even during European winter season better to go for layers and a water/wind proof jacket for mountain expeditions.
