It invites you to experience the authentic and traditional feel Mani has to offer. The historic town of Areopoli, capital of Mani, is aptly named after Ares, the god of war. Dominating the main square, Plateia Athanaton, is a statue of Petrobey Mavromihalis, who proclaimed the Maniot insurrection against the Ottoman Empire in 1821. The town retains many other reminders of its rumbustious past. The byzantine museum is worthly visited. It is one of the best preserved traditional settlement of the area where arid mountains and sea coexist with stone houses, medieval castles, ancient monuments, byzantine churches and monasteries. The apartment is renovated with respect to the original architecture and is one of the oldest mansions of the town with main characteristic the vaulted ceiling. It is air-conditioned, fully equipped and it can host up to 4 persons. It consists of a living-dining room, an open kitchenette, a bathroom, one bedroom and a patio. The spacious living room has a comfortable sofa-bed for 2 persons, a flat 28-inch TV, a dinning table for 4 persons and it offers views to the historic centre of the town. In the kitchen you can find fridge, stove, coffee maker, all the necessary for cooking and dinnerware set. The bedroom consists of a queen-size double bed and a wardrobe with hangers for your clothes and personal items. The 40m2 private patio offers views to the post-byzantine church of Panagitsa and the old mansions of Areopoli. A separate entrance guarantees your privacy. Guests will find cafés, restaurants, a mini market, a bank and a pharmacy at their doorstep. The picturesque Limeni village and the Neo Oitilo beach are 10 minutes drive away. Other nearby attractions include the magnificent Caves of Diros. Horseback riding and water sports are among the numerous activities that the area can offer to visitors.
