The Loft @ Ford House, Yetminster
We welcome you to 'The Loft', which is within our family home in the picturesque village of Yetminster. Close to Sherborne, Yeovil & Dorchester and the beautiful World Heritage Jurassic Coast, it is the ideal location from which to explore this wonderful countryside and coast. Ford House is adjacent to the railway station, with direct access to Gloucester & Weymouth, making travel a breeze! It is a request stop & a quiet line (although you may see the odd train stop at the end of the garden!) The Loft is a split level apartment, with shared entrance (only used by the owners to access the garden). On the first level we have a well-equipped kitchen/diner with fridge, microwave, compact oven, counter top hob, kettle and toaster. The kitchen leads through to a cosy lounge with T.V and sofa bed for occasional extra sleeping space. On the higher level, there is a comfortable en-suite double room, with shower, and a further T.V. All linen and towels are provided, and there is free Wifi throughout. There is also a hairdryer, and an iron is available upon request. The Loft was used in former times for servant's quarters, and such is the quirky layout of the house - some parts going back to the 1600's - it has limited views (see below for additional accessible area's) Upon your arrival, you will find a welcome basket, brimming with provisions for a continental breakfast, and all you need for unlimited tea/coffee during your stay. Guests are encouraged to use the well-established garden and the seating area during the warmer weather (maybe to enjoy a glass of wine, or a cup of tea!). The relaxing Drawing Room on the ground floor with it's snooker/pool table and log burner is also available for guest use. As The Loft is within our home, we are always on hand to help & guide. We are never far away if assistance is needed - we can help with directions, idea's for eating out, attractions etc, but will always give you your own space to enjoy your time. As we are very close to the station, you may notice slow trains - although it is not a busy line, and we barely notice them unless in the garden (where we usually raise a glass to the conductors in the summer evenings!) We have an excellent village pub within a short stroll (although opening days & times are still restricted), and several great pubs within a short drive in neighbouring villages. We have a friendly village shop & post office & a cafe. You may also hear the church bells chiming 'God Save The Queen' at regular intervals - a unique experience! The Loft (as the title suggests!) is located on the top floor - therefore there are 2 flights of stairs
