A quintessential retro stylish 1 bedroom ground floor flat set in the Valley's with bags charm, character and stunning mountain views. It is easy relax and to feel at home, the layout mirrors an open-plan bungalow with exception to the bedroom and bathroom. As there are no stairs within the property, it is guest friendly, especially for those with toddlers, mobility issues or wheel chair bound. Wales ( Cymru in Welsh) is a country in South West of the United Kingdom known for its natural beauty of rugged coastline, mountainous national parks the Welsh Language and Celtic Culture. There are three amazing National Parks in Wales : Snowdonia, Pembrokeshire Coast and Brecon Beacons . Abertillery Abertyleri (Welsh Spelling) meaning Mouth of the river Tyleri this is where the property is located. Abertillery is a quaint Welsh former industrial mining town located in South West Valleys of Wales in Blaenau Gwent County. Abertillery has a river which runs through gorge adjacent with the Town Centre. If you need of a quiet break to unwind, breath in country air, just escape the every day hustle and bustle of city and catch up on sleep or read a good book, sit at home, binge watch series on Netflix, watch DVD’s, play board games, simply cook/bake go clubbing , eat out or drink at the Pub/Bar or get back in tune with Mother Nature. Maybe you like exploring mountainous landscapes, adventure, hiking, the great outdoors, visiting historic castles, world heritage sites, natural reserve parks, or sunning yourself on the beach, then this property is for you. I moved to Wales in 2018, after living in London for nearly 19 years. The change came about as I grew restless with big city life, yearned for a much calmer and easy going way of life. The first time I visited Wales I instantly fell in love with the natural beauty of rugged coastline, mountains in Abertillery including Welsh National Parks (Snowdonia, Pembrokeshire Coast and Brecon Beacons) the Welsh Language and Celtic Culture. Local Shops for Groceries & Supplies: The location of the property benefits from the following amenities. A stone’s throw, 2 minute walk is the Town Centre starting at the Foundry Bridge. The Foundry Convenient Store which includes Abertillery Post Office is just after The Foundry Bridge. There are two Supermarkets in Abertillery, Tesco Superstore + Tesco Filling Station and Ice land respectively. Which are 6 and 7 minutes by foot. The green grocer and butcher are also 4 minutes by foot and are located within the Central part of Town Centre. The Factory shop is on the edge of the Town Centre. There is a Large Asda Superstore, Pets at Home, Home Bargains and Farm Foods in Brynmawr which is 4 miles by car. Local Places of Interest - Tourist Sites For guests wanting to explore, extensive literature covering Wales is provided for ease of reference during your stay. Public facilities in Abertillery include a Local Leisure Centre, Library and Abertillery Park, which are all within walking distance. Local places of interest and historical places in Abertillery include our local Museum, Six Bells - The Guardian Of The Valleys Memorial Park and Cwmtillery Lakes. A bit further a field is The Iron Works and Big Pitt National Coal Museum in Blaenavon. In Abergavenny the three Castles - Skenfrith, Grosmont and White Castle & Museum - are within easy reach. Seven km north East at Llanfihangel Crucorney, Llanfihangel Court is a fine Elizabethan Mansion open to visitors. The River Usk flows through the lower lying lands of the Abergavenny in Monmouthshire. During summer it is an idea picturesque location to visit to simply have stroll or a picnic. Clydach Gorge located minutes away from Brynmawr has magnificent scenery where the native beech woods are now protected by a Nature Reserve. Places to Eat and Night Life: Abertillery has a very vibrant night life, including several places to eat and drink, whether your preference is Take Away Pubs, Night Clubs or Bar & Grill, you will certainly be spoilt for choice. These venues and eateries are also walking distance, therefore a taxi or a car is not always necessary after a night out. Distance From: Abertillery Situated on the A467, Abertillery is 15 miles 24 km north of the M4 and 5 miles 8 km of the A465 “Heads of the Valleys “ Trunk Road. Is abound 25 miles 40 km by road from Cardiff, 17 miles from Newport, 47 miles from Bristol and London is 153 miles away. It is worth noting that the nearest train station to Abertillery is Llanhilleth which has trains directly to Cardiff. The train station at Abergavenny has trains directly to Newport. Abertillery is surrounded by the several towns namely: Brynmawr (4 miles)which is the foot hills of the National Brecon Beacons National Park. Ebbw Vale 7.6 miles , Merthyr Tydfil 17 miles, Mountain Ash 19 miles , Blackwood 6.8 miles, Bargoed 9.1 miles. Pontypool 10 miles and Abergavenny 13 miles. The bus stops are located on Gladstone Street on the main just outside the property with frequency of buses running every 30 mins. After peak time 6pm the bus frequently is much less with one bus an hour. Timetables for buses can be provided for ease of reference. Kindly note the is no bus service after 10pm. Thought it is convenient to have a car, it is not necessary as taxi or car service can be provide upon request and arranged after booking at an extra cost. How to get here by Coach or Train. By Train: The closest train stations to Abertillery is Llanhilleth. There are train stations at Ebbw Vale and Abergavenny, Newport, Cardiff ( Closest for furtherest) The train from Cardiff stops at Llanhilleth.
