Welcoming and private 45 m² apartment on the 1st floor of our annexe. Independent entrance and parking. Edge of village but within 5 minutes of shops and restaurants. Great views across our land and lake. Bright and clean accommodation. Ideal stopover for work or on route to the south and on to Spain; or for longer stays to explore the local area with its' medieval towns and chateaux, apples and madeleines, porcelain, limousin beef and cul noir pigs. With underfloor heating and a fan for the summer, Le Chêne Doux comprises: * a kitchenette with facilities to make simple meals - a fridge, two ring electric hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, toasted sandwich maker and a variety of pots and pans, utensils, chopping boards, cutlery and crockery etc for 4 people. * bathroom with shower, lavatory and basin * bedroom (no door, but round the corner out of the way) with a double bed, chest of drawers and hanging rail, Flat screen TV with French channels (when in France and all that...) * lounge area with openable double french windows with balustrade, L-shaped sofa, table and 4 chairs plus a proper single bed with another pull out single underneath. Le Chêne Doux is self contained and situated on the first floor of our annexe and has an entrance and parking space independent of the main house. Please note the stairs could be awkward if you have reduced mobility. Come and go as you please. You have access to our 45 acres and are free to wander round the lake. Although there is no designated outside space attached to the accommodation you are welcome to have a kick about in our large garden, there is a table and chairs near to the entrance door for your use. We live in the house next door and we run our woodworking business from our workshop in the grounds so we are generally about and available to give you our local knowledge or help out with anything required. Don't hesitate to ask... Bring your bikes and enjoy the picturesque lanes, hamlets and villages. Glandon has a restaurant, a bar tabac and there are also plenty of fab cafés, bars and eateries to hang out in nearby in St Yrieix-la-Perche and Segur-le-Chateau for example. St Yrieix has a cinema, theatre, great leisure centre with spa (Villa Sport) and a brilliant Thursday night market in the summer - not to be missed. Rouffiac leisure lake is only 20 minutes drive away with bar/restaurant, wake boarding/waterskiing, a supervised beach, playground and tree top adventure and zip wire activity. Perhaps you are attending a wedding or event at one of the nearby chateaux, La Durantie, Jumilhac, Domaine d'Essendiéras or Coussac Bonneval- they are all about 20 mins away. There are so many places of interest within day-trip distance that it is impossible to list them all, suffice to say that there are activities to suit everyone and we can help you with suggestions. We are just at the edge of the village of Glandon, a street-lit, walkable 900m from the bar and bakers. St-Yrieix-la-Perche, only 5 minutes by car has a train station and bus stop with connections to Limoges and further afield. The nearest airport is Limoges at 50 minutes, with Brive at 1¼ hours and Bergerac at 1½ hours, Bordeaux and Toulouse are 2½ hours away. The accommodation has free Wifi, there is no password required.
