The Granary shed

Country walks, muddy boots, bike rides and dog friendly – welcome to the Granary! A perfect hideaway for two–four guests, right in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside and part of the award-winning Langley Chase Organic Farm. This contemporary and warm retreat is just one hour from London. It was once an old grain barn that has been sympathetically developed with high ceilings, solid oak floor and exposed beams and a private garden to provide a cosy and spacious space to relax and unwind. Castle Combe, Lacock, Tetbury, Badminton, Malmesbury, Bath and Bristol are 20–30mins away and Stonehenge, Salisbury and Avebury a little beyond. You don't need to travel to relax, the Granary is next door to a ten-acre wood, perfect for strolls and dog walks. The village pub, shop, cafe and church are are all within walking distance. Plus there are plenty of footpaths to enjoy and take in a pub lunch on route. For cyclists, the area is popular for its quiet country lanes and the Granary's utility room has plenty of space for bike/kit storage. DOGS WELCOME The Granary is perfect for dogs, with a fenced private garden and a large utility room and conservatory for drying off your four-legged friend following muddy adventures. The owners supply dog bowls, a dog bed and a large crate if needed. KITCHEN/DINING SPACE The modern fully-fitted kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a week away including: oven, hob, fridge, kettle and toaster. The dining table can comfortably seat four guests but could also double up as a workspace if needed. LIVING ROOM The well appointed living room includes a cosy three-seater sofa (that can convert to a double sofa-bed). French doors lead into your own private garden with views across the farmland. You’ll also see some of the farm’s sheep, geese, hens, ducks, ponies and chickens wandering around. GARDEN This spacious and private garden backs out onto large fields and woodland. You’re welcome to help yourself to the pears from the tree when they’re ready. BATHROOM This spacious and modern bathroom features a long bath – perfect for unwinding following a long day – as well as a shower, WC, sink and mirror. Towels are included. A washing machine/tumble dryer are also provided. For sunny days we have a washing line. BEDROOM This large, high-ceilinged room has a comfortable double bed with crisp white linen included. There's plenty of room for a cot bed and plenty of storage space with a fitted wardrobe, shelves and bedside cabinets. ABOUT THE FARM The Granary is part of Langley Chase Organic Farm, which rears rare breed Manx Loaghtan sheep – one of the oldest and most striking breeds of sheep in the UK. The Farm has won the UK's Organic Food awards for its lamb, hogget and mutton and sells it produce across the UK or, by appointment, from the farm. You will be able to access the whole house and private garden. Parking is off road, outside the property in the farm. Guests are able to access the house themselves but we are only a phone call away if needed. Kington St Michael is a thriving and friendly village, with history that dates back to Saxon times. Village amenities are all within walking distance from the house and include a locally-run village shop, pub, cafe and children's play park. There's also a 14-acre wood next to the house which is great for dog walking and exploring. Kington St Michael is linked to Malmsbury and Chippenham via the A350. The M4 motorway (J17) is three miles north of the village, going west to Bath, Bristol & Cardiff and east to Swindon, Reading & London. Please note that The Granary is located on a small working farm with animals, including ponies, sheep, ducks, geese and bees. Please use common sense at all times.
