La Casa della bifora / The House of the mullion

Casa medievale del XIV secolo finemente ristrutturata dai suoi proprietari, due storici dell’arte. Situata nella piazza più bella di Sermoneta, le sue finestre inquadrano il magnifico campanile romanico della cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta. Dotata di tre grandi camere da letto è ideale per il soggiorno romantico di una coppia, ma anche di un gruppo di tre coppie di amici o di una grande famiglia (totale sette posti letto in tre stanze con aria condizionata). Italiano L’ingresso è dotato di una grande libreria, nello studiolo della bifora gotica (classificata dalle sovrintendenze bene di pregio di categoria A insieme al Castello) si trova un bel camino. Il salone, dotato di una comoda e funzionale cucina, è dotato ai lati di due balconi. I mobili svedesi degli anni Settanta aggiungono una nota elegante a questa rara abitazione antica. I tre moderni bagni della casa (uno al pian terreno e gli altri due adiacenti alle camere da letto) sono dotati di doccia e una vasca. English Medieval house of 14th century finely restored by its owners, two art historians. Located in the most beautiful square of Sermoneta, its windows frame the oustanding Romanesque tower of the cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. With three large bedrooms it is ideal for the romantic stay of a couple, but also for a group of three couples of friends or a large family (total seven beds in three rooms with air-conditioning). The entrance is equipped with a large library, in the room of the Gothic mullioned window (classified by the superintendence as a valuable asset of category A along with the Castle) there is a beautiful working fireplace. The living room, equipped with a comfortable and functional kitchen, has two balconies at the sides. Swedish furniture from the seventies adds an elegant note to this rare antique home. The three modern bathrooms in the house (one on the ground floor and the other two adjacent to the bedrooms) have a shower and one tub. Agli ospiti avranno accesso alla casa intera. Sarà loro consegnata una chiave di entrata e saranno completamente autonomi tutto il tempo della permaneza. Vicino alla casa si trova un panificio (pane e pizza freschi), bar, ristoranti, un tabaccaio e un bancomat. English Guests will have access to the entire house. They will be given the entrance keys. The house is completely autonomous. Near the house there is a bakery (fresh bread and pizza), bars, restaurants, a tabac shop and an ATM. There is no interaction with the other guests. In fact we rent the whole house either to a couple with children (up to seven places) or to two or three couples of friends. La casa è al centro del paese. Vicino c'è un ottimo fornaio che fa pizza fresca (il venerdi) pane e prodotti tipici, e poi tre bar con terrazza, buoni ristoranti tipici, una gelateria, dei piccoli alimentari e un bancomat. English The house is right downtown. Close to a bakery, where you can buy bread, pizza, and typical cakes. Also close to three bars, good restaurants, an ice-cream shop, and grocery stores. In teoria il modo migliore di visitare la regione è una macchina privata (la quale volendo si puo' prendere in affitto in aereoporto, a Roma o a Latina scalo). Detto questo è possibile rilassarsi a Sermoneta per un lungo periodo senza mai dover lasciare il paese. Si puo' arrivare a Sermoneta da Roma e Napoli via treno (fermata Latina Scalo) e da li prendere un autobus che in 10 minuti arriva al paese. English In theory the best way to visit the region is a private car, which can be easily rented in every Italian airport. That said, it is possible to get to Sermoneta by train: get off at Latina Scalo stopover, and from there reach Sermoneta by a small bus. In Sermoneta you move only on foot: cars aren’t allowed, apart from the main road to which only residents have access. La Casa della bifora è considerata una delle piu' belle case di Sermoneta. Il paese è noto come uno comuni medievali meglio conservati del Centro Italia. Vicino a Sermoneta si trovano il magnifico giardino di Ninfa, le abbazie cistercensi di Valvisciolo e Fossanova, il leggendario San Felice Circeo, il parco nazionale, Sabaudia e Terracina ed il loro tratto di mare indimenticabile. English The House of the mullioned window is considered one of the most beautiful houses in Sermoneta. The town is known as one of the best preserved medieval towns in Central Italy. Near Sermoneta there are the magnificent garden of Ninfa, the Cistercian abbeys of Valvisciolo and Fossanova, the legendary San Felice Circeo, the national park, Sabaudia and Terracina and their unforgettable stretch of sea.
