The Alfred @ Little England Retreats
This cosy Shepherd’s Hut, the Alfred, is tucked away in a quiet corner of the garden. Plenty of privacy, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but with enough home comforts so you can fully relax. Glamping at its best! The Alfred has a small covered balcony, well protected from any inclement weather, where you can enjoy a glass of wine, or play a game of cards and listen to the birds in the garden. We have even provided you with a selection of board games. You also have a little private garden in the trees, with your own patio set of table and chairs, a chimenea for the chillier evenings and hammock for those lazy summer days. So many ways to relax. Should you wish to cook an evening meal yourself, you can go to the conservatory where you will find a microwave, that you are free to use. On the other hand, if you fancy a night under the stars, you can use one of our outdoor wood stoves and enjoy being outside. We can also recommend local pubs and restaurants, including the village pub which is a short walk away. Guests have access to the garden as well as their own private space. There is a large barn , adjacent to the breakfast area - here there is a pool table, which you are welcome to use and also a Far infra- red sauna if so wish. We are available if you need us - but otherwise we will keep out of your way . We do live in the main house, so you might see us around. We are situated in the Village of Othery. We don't have a village shop, but we do have our own bakery , that does excellent bread and cakes and a whole lot more . We also a pub that serves good food and is a few minutes walking from the Retreats and a post office . We are rural - you will need a car to get around. There are buses to Glastonbury but they only run once an hour - no buses on Sundays We are rural - you will need a car to get around.
