Secret Gardens is located just outside Borgomaro, a picturesque village in the Ligurian inland, just 15km from Imperia's beaches. The old stone arch marks the entrance to our fairy tale place; an oasis of peace where you can enjoy the sound of the river, the birds and the church bells. Our house was a 200 year old water mill, now completely refurbished. The perfect get-away for nature lovers; Away from everything, close to everything; the perfect description for Secret Gardens. Imagine a small picturesque village in Liguria’s inland; Borgomaro. Here you can enjoy a slow and relaxing pace of life; the chimes of the Church’s bells set the pace. Everybody knows each other and helping each other is the normal way of life. Now imagine walking along one of the narrow streets of the Village (in Ligurian they are called “caruggi”) and heading out towards the countryside. Follow the little path along the gentle flowing creek and its little waterfalls and natural pools, surrounded by old trees and olives grooves. Just a few steps along the path you will come across an old stone arch covered in ivy and a stone bridge where the creek flows pleasantly. A few more steps and, through the trees and leaves, you will set eyes on a small clearing, with many terraced gardens. In the middle of the clearing there is an old stone watermill, now completely refurbished; Welcome to Secret Gardens. Time seems to have stopped here at Secret Gardens the time stopped. Just a few minutes walk from the village of Borgomaro, you are presented with a new life dimension. Secret Gardens is a green oasis, surrounded by olives grooves; no streets, no cars, no neighbours. The only noises come from the singing of the birds, the buzzing of the bees and the chatter of the squirrels as they jump from one tree to the next. Peace, quietness, relaxation and privacy; the perfect mix for a regenerating holiday. Secret Gardens is the perfect getaway for nature lovers. You can walk or cycle along the many countryside paths around Borgomaro or you can relax in our private gardens. Have a barbecue under the stars, surrounded the magic light of the fireflies Have a swim in the natural pools of Borgomaro river or drive just a few kilometres and enjoy the beautiful Ligurian sea. Secret Gardens is away from everything but close to everything; to you the luxury of the choice. As we host just few guests at a time, you will have exclusively access to kitchen, living area and barbecue area. The house and the gardens will be all yours! We love to have guests. We love to chat, to have a barbecue together under the stars. We'll share with you all the cool things to do in Borgomaro and Imperia area and we'll always do our best to satisfy your requests. Although we are just few minutes walking from the village, Secret Gardens is only surrounded by nature. No other buildings around. No streets. No cars. Our only neighbours are birds, squirrels, butterflies and fireflies to share the property with. Secret Gardens can be reached only by foot. However, the village of Borgomaro is just few minutes away from us. In the village you can find bars, restaurants, shops, hairdresser and a pharmacy. There is also a bus stop in case you want to take a ride to Imperia. Also, parking in Borgomaro is free everywhere. We can only be reached via a pedestrian path through the countryside (only 300 mts from where you can park your car - we are however able to take care of your luggage and deliver it into your room. So you will enjoy your arrival at Secret Gardens from the very first walk in the countryside! We suggest to put in your baggage a pair of snickers and a jumper (at night the air can be pretty cool, even in july/august)
