Restored, rustic and rural mini cottage in typical Portuguese village
Peace, beauty and authenticity - a place to be yourself and to meet a people who are kind without pretences, and generous despite their frugal living. If you like hiking, discovering ancient graves and ruins, and if you like goats and donkeys - this is the place for you! You walk in from the street directly into the dining and sitting area. The wall in front of you is partly the natural rock which was there before the house. On your left you have the steps which lead up to the bedroom on the second floor. Under the staircase you have a couple of comfortable armchairs and then the dining area with the salamander. If you open the wood panels on your right, you will find the kitchenette and a nice inox bathroom. The walls on the top floor are completely covered in natural colour wood, which gives the room a warm feeling. This floor also has a salamander, to ensure your comfort even in winter time. The bunk beds are unusually large and comfortable. No parking. You will probably be approaching on the A4 from Porto, or the Ip3 from Viseu. In either case you get off the motorway when you see signs towards Lamego . Shortly after having gone off the motorway, you will arrive at a large roundabout. There you need to follow the signs to Tarouca and Moimenta da Beira. You drive along that road for about 10 minutes, passing through Britiande and Barroncal, until you arrive at a very small roundabout with signs to the right towards 3 villages: Lalim, Lazarim and Mazes. When you arrive at Mazes, you are already on the right street; Rua do Fidalgo do Castelo. The house is about a hundred meters up the road on your right, more or less opposite a café. There is no parking immediately beside the house , but if you continue upwards a little bit, you will come to a square (by the church) and there you will always find a place to park. Security deposit 40 EUR.
