The Old General Store At The Laurels

3.7 miles from Glastonbury, set in the heart of the village. The Laurels annexe is attached to our much loved Victorian house. The annexe used to be the Old General Store. With it’s own entrance it offers studio accommodation, TV, sofa, kitchenette, fridge, microwave oven grill, a two ring hob and a toaster. Tea and fresh coffee are provided & for breakfast, homemade bread, a selection of cereals, biscuits, milk, eggs yoghurt, jams and juice. Free wifi portable Towels & bed linen provided. A lovely studio with separate bathroom with cubicle shower. Central living area with two seater sofa TV with Freeview and Chromecast Well equipped kitchenette with dining area You have the whole private studio to yourself You can use the tumble drier in the carport At the rear of our house we have a small, flower-filled courtyard (with a small cast iron table and chairs) that you are welcome to use We will try our best to be there to greet you and show you around (on the rare occasion we can’t a key will be left for you in a coded box) We will give you our telephone number and happy to help with anything you need Warren & Annette look forward to welcoming you to The Old General Store. Parking is available on the street outside the annexe. Guest are welcome to use our small courtyard at the back of the house, which has a small table and chairs. The Laurels annexe is ideal for singles or couples wanting to escape to the country and explore the surrounding areas. Butleigh is set within the beautiful countryside of Somerset.The village has a local shop/post office, a friendly pub 5 mins walk away (see photo gallery for opening times) and a sweet little tearoom called The Drawing Room 5 mins walk see their websites. In the next village there is a mobile Fish and chip van which visits on a Thursday and on Friday fresh stone baked pizza's. Only a couple of minutes drive is Coombe Hill offering miles of stunning walks. The legendary town of Glastonbury is only 3.7 miles away. With the tor and Glastonbury abbey and numerous places to eat and drink. Street is also very close by, with the famous designer outlet, Clarks village and Millfield School. A little further afield are Wells, the smallest city in England, Chedder Gorge, Wookey Hole and The Royal Bath and West. Bristol, Bath and Exeter are within a hours drive away. We are animal friendly. We have two golden retrievers and a cat (no access to studio or courtyard). We welcome well behaved pets, but please keep them off the furniture. Please note we are in the heart of the village on the High Street. The entrance to the annexe opens onto the Street Parking on the street outside your accommodation Bristol airport is a 45 minute drive Nearest train station is Castle Cary around 20 minutes away The 667 bus runs into the village from Street and Glastonbury We are blessed with fantastic countryside to explore **The breakfast is cereals bread and jams - we can not be held responsible for those with allergies such as nuts or intolerances to gluten/milk etc.** Butleigh is one of the oldest villages in Great Britain. It has a population of around 900 and is known as an estate village Butleigh is a sub-village of Glastonbury and is a 5 minute drive away from town centre. The village has changed over the years as and when the landowner sold off areas to payoff his, alleged, gambling debts.
