This apartment boasts a beautiful view of Champex's glacial lake and mountains, which can be hiked in summer and skied in winter. The building has a pool, sauna and fitness area. It's just 30 min from Verbier, one of the world's premier ski resorts. This 2 bedroom apartment can sleep 5 people. It has stunning views of the lake and mountains. Champex is a beautiful summer and winter resort nestled in the Swiss Alps, next to a magnificent glacial lake, surrounded by forests. There are shops, cafés, and restaurants all within 300m of the apartment. In summer, there is something for everyone to choose from with a large range of leisure and sports activities. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool which also houses a tennis court and sand volleyball. The lake offers fishing, boating (row boats, pedal boats) or a more challenging outing on one of the new SUPs (Stand Up Paddle boards). Champex offers leisurely hikes around the lake, or more athletic hikes on its many trails. There is also an enchanting Alpine botanical garden, and a WW II artillery fort, neither of which should be missed! In winter, Champex has downhill and cross country skiing, artificial and natural skating rinks, an ice pyramid, walks around the lake, groomed snow shoe paths, or walks with the St-Bernard dogs. There is a ski school which provides group or private courses. While there are many great restaurants in Champex, you won't want to miss the Michelin starred restaurant "Les Alpes" in Orsières, a 15 minute drive. This brasserie serves specialties from the Valais and uses only seasonal produce. It remains traditional while offering a fine dining experience. The nearest airport is Geneva, which is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes away by car. There is a bus stop across the street from the apartment. The bus takes you to the train station in Orsières which connects you to the rest of Switzerland and Europe. Snow tires or chains are required in winter. Champex is 29 km from Verbier, or 20 km from Le Chable, where you can park and take the gondola to Verbier.
