Land of Sirius

“Land of Sirius” lies on the top of a hill, in an area of 10.000 square meters, next to the Lake of Korissia and near the Challikounas beach. We built the first bioclimatic villa for you to relax reinvigorate yourselves and come in direct contact with the natural environment of the Natura Area. The vegetation on the land is indigenous by the most part, with a wide variety of plants and trees. THE VILLA The Villa of 100 square meters has two levels that provides privacy and peace. On the first level there is a living room with a fireplace, equipped with Home Cinema and Satellite TV, a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen with a dish washer. Moreover, there is a WC and a bedroom with a Queen-Sized bed, safe box and its own shower-hydromassage column. On the second level, there is a big bedroom with its own Queen-Sized bed, office, open bathroom including Jacuzzi, Satellite TV and two large balconies, providing astonishing view at all directions. All interior areas have their own air condition. SURROUNDING AREA The area surrounding the villa provides you with a swimming pool, solar shower, a barbeque with its own dining area, outdoor seating area and sunbeds. ECOLOGICAL APPROACH Our villa uses biological waste treatment system, making further use of the drained water in vegetation's benefit, thus operating in harmony with the surrounding nature. The swimming pool water is cleaned via salt electrolysis, keeping the pool clean and eco-friendly. Out of respect for the environment, the villa provides you with separate waste bins for recycling, compost etc. A solar water heater provides you with hot water at all times. ACTIVITIES Enjoy your day from early in the morning, with the sun rising above the mountains of Epirus, until it sets into the vastness of the sea. Hiking and Biking: The area provides countless paths, leading you into endless olive groves, Pantokratoras mountain with its own beutiful wild vegetation, vast oak forests and beautiful view of southern Corfu, and into the cedar forest of Issos, a work of natural art with 7 different ecosystems. Provided it is a Natura Area, the flora and fauna is always at its peek, with nature offering everything generously. Sea Activities: The sandy beach of Chalikounas, of 3 kilometers length, is your closest choice (only 1,5 km away). The beach has a bar, is suitable for wind-surfing and kite-surfing, is graced with natural diversity due to Korissia Lake lying right next to it, and for the lovers of nudism, the southern part of the beach is the ideal place. Other beaches you can find pretty near are Issos -for nudists as well-, Prasoudi and Paramonas. Lay on their clean sandy shores, swim into the crystal blue waters and let the sea aura overwhelm you. History - Culture: The lovers of history and folklore can visit the Byzantine Castle of Gardiki, the Palaeolithic Cave and the traditional village of Agios Matthaios, everything in short distance from the villa. Other activities include fishing and horse riding. At the end of your full day, reinvigorate yourselves in the jacuzzi, scent the atmosphere with ethereal oils and aromatic sticks, gazing at the beautiful sunset, with all its wonderful colors. After dark, you may sit on the large balconies and enjoy the wonderful starlit sky, including the Galactic Path unfolding on the stellar stardom, a true spectacle. A remote controlled gateway provides access to the Land of Sirius, with the property just 200 meters away from the entrance. A plants guide is available for the journey in the land. RECYCLING BINS (GLASS-COMPOST-RECYCLABLES) IN THE PORCH, OUTSIDE THE KITCHEN. DO NOT POUR OILS, GREASE OR CHEMICALS DOWN THE DRAIN (VESSELS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE CUPBOARD BELOW THE SINK FOR THIS USE) FOR THE USE OF THE ELECTRIC KITCHEN, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. (IN CASE OF A POWER OUTAGE, THE DIGITAL INDICATION BLINKS. FOR THE REACTIVATION OF THE OVEN, PRESS THE LEFT OR RIGHT BUTTON FOR 2 SECONDS). GARDEN DO NOT CUT AND DO NOT WATER THE PLANTS. DO NOT LIFT OR MOVE ANY ROCKS THAT HAPPEN TO BE INSIDE THE PERIMETER OF THE VILLA. DO NOT THROW GARBAGE OR CIGARETTES IN THE SURROUNDING AREA. THE SOD IS AUTOMATICALLY WATERED DURING LATE MIDNIGHT HOURS (3:00-4:00 AM). IN CASE OF STRONG WINDS, KEEP THE PARASOL CLOSED AND DO NOT LIGHT A FIRE IN THE BBQ. THE GARDEN LIGHTING IS AUTOMATICALLY ACTIVATED AND DEACTIVATED BY TIME SWITCH. SWIMMING POOL THE SWIMMING POOL'S WATER QUALITY IS REGULATED BY ELECTRONIC MEANS AND DECONTAMINATED WITH THE USE OF SALT ELECTROLYSIS (WITHOUT ADDITIVES OF CHEMICALS). SWIMMING POOL'S DISINFECTION OCCURS ONCE PER WEEK, DURING MORNING HOURS. KEEP THE SWIMMING POOL CLEAN BY HAVING A SHOWER BEFORE SWIMMING. DO NOT SWIM WHILE FED OR UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL. REFRAIN FROM DIVING; THE POOL'S DEPTH IS FROM 1,00 m TO 1,60 m DEEP. SURROUNDING AREA IF YOU DECIDE TO TAKE A WALK IN THE SURROUNDING AREA, THERE IS A CHANCE YOU WILL DISCOVER HEDGEHOGS, LIZARDS AND SNAKES, OF NON-THREATENING SPECIES. DO NOT DISTURB THEM.
