Eco Lodge 'Bale' with private bathroom

It will be a pleasure to welcome you and share the wild beauty of the Lombok Barat Gili's Archipelago. The style of always on the island, the one that those who have visited and loved it already know and that will sweetly captivate those who will come for the first time. Sun, sea, fish and corals, birdsongs, the coolness of the trees and great fish based food cooked in an Italian style. Sunrises and sunsets away from everything, merely in the nature and caressed by the breeze. Traditionally in Indonesia a Bale is an open space hut where neighbors in a village meet to talk and carry out their daily activities in company. We have taken this concept and adapted it to a bedroom setting by adding two platforms for extra space and bamboo blinds and a dividing barrier made from bamboo for privacy. The Bales are equipped with luggage storage space, a head rest locker for valuables and a modest terrace furnished with bean bags for you to kick your shoes off and enjoy a sea view with a cool drink at hand. The Bales have a private bathroom contained by the cozy garden space beside the unit. There is a fan for ventilation and the bamboo blinds all around can be rolled up for a view and a breeze or rolled down for some cozy privacy. On the other side of the bed there is a dressing room area with space for you to change and hang your clothes. Sleeping in the Bales with nature at your doorstep and a cool sea breeze blowing is a truly unique island experience for anyone. With a white beach and crystal clear waters populated with gardens of brightly colored coral and tropical fish at your doorstep it easy to feel yourself slip into island mode and forget about your daily worries! This Bale has a private bathroom contained by the cozy garden space beside the unit. By the addition of the private bathroom we have also created privacy through natural material boundaries between the rooms giving each bale a cozy private garden without compromising the view. This improvement will inevitably make the experience more unique by adding comforts to the classic Crusoe feel of the room. The accommodation includes breakfast at our restaurant Nautilus where we also serve a seasonal daily menu based on availability of fresh local produce at the markets. Whether you are a beer or ice tea kind of person you can enjoy beautiful sunsets with almost 360’ view of the mainland and neighboring islands from our wooden Yoga Shala located on the small hill behind the lodges. To end the beautiful day come sit on the drift wood benches surrounding the fire and enjoy the dancing flames beneath a starlit sky. The guest will have access to all communal areas and generally anywhere that isnt specified as a staff only zone or otherwise off limits zone. Afraid you will get cabin fever? There is SO much to do on the island; snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, walking, reading, tanning, swimming, swinging or enjoying one of the many board games, books and other sports we offer here at the lodge. Still worried? Upon request we can arrange some mainland adventures! From local village tours including pottery and weaving community visit to days spend wandering through the bustling markets surrounded by exotic fruits and local street food. Waterfall excursions, secluded beaches or city tours; you name it! Just let us know what you’re into and we will make the call. Also available are guided snorkeling or diving trips to visit the different barriers in this region, outrigger boat excursions to neighboring islands and sunset cruises to the world renown surf spot Desert Point. Its only about a 5km walk around the entire island through the local village and uninhabited beaches. There is a volley ball field on the property,3 kayaks and a local style canoe for your enjoyment as well as snorkeling equipment and other beach sports gear for no additional costs. Feeling exhausted after a day or adventure, kick back and relax with a fresh juice and enjoy a good book from our book swap corner or a game of giant checkers! Located in the south west of Lombok Gili Asahan is one of the least populated of the secret Gilis in the archipelago.
