Lavender Cottage

Lavender Cottage is ideally placed in rural Normandy for anyone wishing to visit the D-Day beaches or tourist attractions such as Mont-Saint-Michel. The property is ideally located for easy access to several ferry ports making it easy to access from the UK. Lavender Cottage is one of three self catering holiday gites at Les Gites De Meterville complex in Gorges. Lavender is the largest of our gites with four bedrooms which are suitable for up to seven people sharing. It has a double bedroom with ensuite, a double, a twin and a small single bedroom. The cottage can be booked on its own or in conjunction with Orchid and / or Rose cottages for bigger groups. Lavender has a wood burning stove for cosy nights in. It also has use of a games room. Lavender has its own garden as well as having access to a shared courtyard area. Free parking is available. Central courtyard We live in the farmhouse on site. We are adjacent to a Château which, rumour has it, has not been entered since 1944. This and our proximity to the D-Day beaches mean that we’re ideally located for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in wartime history. We are also just 22 minutes drive from the nearest dog friendly beach on the west coast, or about an hour from Mont Saint Michel. There is so much to see and do in Normandy! To be able to explore the area, we recommend bringing a car or motorcycle. There is a village shop and tabac within walking distance, making it easy to buy bread and baguettes in the morning or to pop down for a beer in the evening. Use of a car is recommended to make the most of the many attractions that rural Normandy has to offer.
