From its humble beginnings as one of the buildings on a working farm, Aval Dor Barn was where the farm's potato seeds and chitting were stored; completely functional but not very glamorous. Today, this unassuming building has been reimagined into a beautiful holiday cottage that sits within easy reach of St. Michaels Mount just a few miles away from the market town of Penzance, providing a wonderful base from which to explore the coastline and attractions of west Cornwall. Elegantly furnished and thoughtfully equipped, the cottage offers two spacious upstairs bedrooms (one with a king size and one with twins) to provide sumptuous sleeping for four guests, with the addition of a pull-out single sofa bed in the living room providing extra space for a fifth. The cottage’s private garden is secluded and enclosed with a lush appearance derived from its array of established plants; and has a picnic bench that makes for a relaxing place to enjoy a morning coffee, evening drinks or outdoor dining. Generously proportioned and open plan in layout, the ground floor incorporates a tasteful sitting room complete with traditional cast iron log burner, a roomy L-shaped sofa, a beanbag and a Smart TV. The dining area with its handmade hardwood table, chairs and bench seat is the perfect place for sharing meals, while the kitchen, which comes fully stocked with a range of cookware, utensils and appliances, makes whipping up home cooked creations a breeze.
