From the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, Cape Otway Lighthouse, Otway Fly Treetop Walk, Otway Waterfalls and hikes, an extended stay is definitely recommended. Situated in the amazing Moonlight Head area, the sunsets and natural beauty will be sure to impress. Just minutes from the Great Ocean Walk and surrounded by Otways beauty, you'll want to stay for longer. Our cottages are perfect for the extended stay- to relax, rekindle that romance, or use as a base to explore the amazing and rugged South West Coast. Only have one night available and want a cottage it is worth contacting the owners as sometimes they try to accommodate this situation. Just minutes from walking tracks, Gables Lookout and Wreck Beach; and within half an hour of the Otway Fly, Twelve Apostles, Cape Otway lighthouse makes Southern Anchorage a perfect base for a memorable Otway's Escape. Our beautiful and rustic cottages are very private and boast fabulous interior design, wood fires, their own bbq, spectacular jacuzzis and well appointed kitchens and ensuites. Importantly, no-one shares your space and you have everything you need for the perfect stay! Excellent parking and amenities will make your stay comfortable and our helpful staff can help with local eating and tourism ideas. A consideration is that because we are a retreat we are away from the hustle and bustle of city life- it's what makes us special- as kangaroos, wallabies and spectacular birds share our property and natural beauty surrounds you. But, dining (20min) and shops (30-60 min) are a good drive away so please come prepared. Our greatest attraction needs to be planned for and we try to help by sending comprehensive local information with your booking. We also encourage our guests to enjoy the beautiful gardens on the property (especially just down from office) but allow privacy for the cottages. Cottages are self contained, but have everything else you need for a memorable stay! Firewood is not provided over summer period due to safety and supply issues. Our property name is Southern Anchorage Retreat. Office open daily from 8:00am till 10pm. Late check in and checkout by appointment. On a good day you can see the sandstone cliffs of the 12 Apostles coastline and we are home to spectacular views, walks and nature. There is SO MUCH TO SEE & DO- ENJOY! We are in a remote part of Australia, so public transport is not available. Free parking is readily available at our accommodation. Southern Anchorage is our property name and we’re just 1 km off the Great Ocean Road and well signposted. Being in a remote but spectacular part of Australia means we’re away from towns and shops. This means nature is on your doorstep- but you'll need to plan your stay and longer stays can ensure you really enjoy our amazing area, as there is just so much to see and do!
