Top of the Hill
A warm family house with a breathtaking view On the northeastern side of the island is the Kohilou village at the entrance of which the house is located. The village perched on the top of the hill having an endless view of the sea and the rest of the surrounding area. Incoming from the main entrance of the property there are some stairs that we descend and lead us to the front of the house where there is the entrance door. Entering on our right is a large living room with a fireplace on our left a large kitchen fully equipped with dining table/area. The first flour has one of the two bathrooms of the property. Opposite to the main entrance there are wooden stairs that lead upstairs to the second floor. There are one double bedroom, a twin single beds bedroom, and a single bedroom. The three bedrooms surround a leaving room creating a nice family environment. The 2nd floor leaving room is equipped with a sofa that could turn into 1.20 m wide bed that could accommodate 1 to 2 people . Next to leaving room one could fine the 2nd bathroom of the property. The two bathrooms were recently renovated while new kitchen furniture recently installed (see photos). The bed frames, the mattresses and the furnitures in the leaving room and brand new (bought in May 2021), while a new smart tv, 43 inches, installed in the living room-dinning area. A dedicated person that will help you with everything you need is located just 5 minute walk from the property. Andros is the second largest island in the Cyclades, after Naxos with dense vegetation, running waters and endless rural areas. Andros is the northernmost island of Cyclades having a rich geographical contrasts that combines the “dry” Cycladic landscape with lush vegetation and abundant water. It is the unique Cycladic Island that springs from the rivers to the sea that run throughout the year. In these waters Andros owes her beauty and the ancient names Lasia (with rich vegetation) and Ydrousa (with abundant water.) Andros is the greenest and the second biggest island of Cyclades, only two hours by ferryboat away from Rafina ,one of the main port of Athens situated 20 minutes outise the city center and the Eleftherios Venizelos Athens International airport. Andros has a very extensive network of trekking routes, which is estimated to exceed 300 km in length, while Andros Route, a continuous 100km Andros track, on October of 2015 got the distinguished European Quality Certification Leading Quality Trails-Best of Europe managed by the European Ramblers Association, establishing the island as one of the leading quality destinations for hiking. Chora, the capital of island, is one of the most beautiful capitals. Neo classical buildings, several important and famous museums. The Archeological Museum of Andros lies in Chora, in Kari square. It was established on the initiative of Goulandris Foundation in a beautiful building that was founded in 1981. The museum owns a collection of fascinating finds from the geometric era, the ancient town of Paleopolis and other regions of the island that were brought to light during the excavations. The most important artwork found in the museum is the statue of Hermes, made by Praxiteles. In the heart of the town lies the Museum of Modern Art. It exists since 1979 and hosts a fine collection of works of renowned Greek artists such as Tsarouchis, Nikolaidis and others. Andros was the Aegean maritime centre in the 19th century, a period that has left several traces which are now stored in the Maritime Museum of Andros which was founded in 1972 at the centre of the island. Its collection includes nautical items, shipping documents, models of old vessels and other exhibits that bear witness to the strong connection of the locals with the sea. Kydonieos Institute is located in the capital of Andros, along Kari Street. It was established in 1994 and over the years it has become the cultural centre of Andros being the main host of several art exhibitions, concerts and other cultural events. The old renovated house of Theofilos kairis,one of the leaders of the Greek revolution in 1821 is open to the public displaying a great photo archive and thousands of books from his private collection. You must enjoy the green village's fantastic sea sites with blue waters and delicious local food. Its rich underground and surface water resources. Within this district environment a gracious cultural heritage is being preserved, with many painters, sculptors and scholars.
