You'll find a warm welcome at Southdown Bed & Breakfast, an extended 300 year old cottage, situated in the beautiful countryside between the villages of Higher Clovelly and Hartland in North Devon. With wonderful views across open farmland and out to sea, Southdown is set on the North Devon Hartland Heritage Coast in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and in an ideal location for the many wonderful attractions of the area. This bedroom is en-suite and has stunning sea & countryside views. The room will have your choice of either luxury King size double bed or twin single beds. Free Wi-fi is available in the room together with Freeview TV, tea and coffee making facilities, en-suite shower and toilet, towels, soap, shampoo and a hairdryer. Breakfast is served in our guest dining room. We have off road parking and can garage cycles if required. We have free on-site parking for your car. Bus 319 passes the door We live on the premises, and are available at most times. Guests do not have the facilities for cooking themselves, but breakfast is included in the room price and is served in our guest dining room. There are several lovely pubs and restaurants within a short drive. The area is very rural, and we are about 2 miles from the village considered to be the 'prettiest in England' - Clovelly, and 2.5 miles the small town of Hartland. Stagecoach bus 319 to Hartland, Bideford and Barnstaple passes the door, and bus 219 from Hartland goes the other way to Bude. (Very limited service). Local Taxis are Brad Cars at Bradworthy - please contact them directly to book. The price shown includes a Full English breakfast. We do not accept pets. Assistance dogs are of course accepted free of charge. How to find us: ** Your SatNav will take you to the area, but not to our B&B. Follow the below directions for the last 5 miles ** Our address is: Southdown B&B, 1 Southdown Cottages, Higher Clovelly, Devon EX39 5SA From the Bideford direction follow the A39 west towards Cornwall. Continue straight on at the A39 at Clovelly Cross roundabout (do not turn right into Higher Clovelly village), then in a few yards turn right onto the B3248 signposted 'Hartland' (and there is a new brown sign indicating, amongst other attractions, 'Hotel & B&B') on the sharp left-hand bend. Southdown B&B is the first house on the left on the B3248 in 0.7 miles by the big tree. Pull into the drive and park in the designated guest parking area. From the Bude direction follow the A39 north towards Devon. Don't take the first turning left signposted 'B3248 to Hartland' at Baxworthy Cross, but continue for 2 miles on the A39 until you see a second turning left signposted 'B3248 to Hartland' on a sharp right-hand bend. Take that left turn onto the B3248 towards Hartland. Southdown B&B is the first house on the left along the B3248, in 0.7 miles by the big tree. Pull into the drive and park in the designated guest parking area.
