Comfy, Tranquil Two-Room Spacious Lakefront Suite!
We are closed for the winter season! Not an 'entire place' but a private suite. Enjoy a lovely small lake with panoramic view, a spa-like bathroom, cotton linens, a comfy bed, and fireplaced living room. Relax quietly or venture out to swim, kayak, or fish from here. Enjoy mill history in Lowell, take a forest walk 2 minutes away, or drive 10 min. to Nashua, NH for restaurants & tax-free shopping. Just an hour from Boston and central to most New England. Low cleaning fees too! This is NOT an 'entire house' but a portion of it, 2 self-contained rooms, accessed by our front door (seldom used by ourselves). The master bedroom is private, quiet, and has a tranquil view of the lake from the second floor. An adjacent living/sitting room is included, containing a sofa (where a third, registered guest may sleep), TV, reading materials/reading nook, fireplace, NO KITCHEN but small table/chairs, microwave, mini-fridge and a (keurig) tea/coffeemaker. The lake is small, with mostly year-round residents., and we are not in an isolated area. Nashua, NH and Lowell, MA are 12 minutes away, as is the highway of Route 3. A minute's walk away is a state forest, and within 1 to 7 miles there are golf courses, mini golf, walking and biking trails, a national park, theatre, indoor roller skating, farmstands and scores of restaurants, and don't forget tax-free NH shopping. Boston is an hour away, as are the borders of CT, RI, VT, and Maine, making us an ideal stop in your New England travels! Only registered guests are permitted on the premises - NO unregistered visitors please. There is NO KITCHEN access but many amenities used in a kitchen available in the suite. Only 1 car allowed in driveway (2nd car may park on street). Guests enter through the front door (shared but seldom used by us) into our home's front hallway to access stairway to the suite. Yours is the only bedroom on this level. Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home on our deck and outdoor grounds. Kayaking, or fishing is allowed as well as swimming although the water's bottom is rocky. If preferred, very closeby (2 minute walk) is a sandy, small public beach which guests can walk to. We have an old fashioned swing (see photo), badminton or croquet games if you wish, and various inflatables during the summertime for your use, as well as two kayaks and two bicycles (latter in garage). However, we are not childproofed inside or out. The grounds have lovely pocket gardens and a generous view of the lake since we are located on a point. Please note we are not remotely situated, or in 'the country'; we have close-by neighbors in this residential area. We really enjoy chatting with our guests and finding out why they are in our area, and what they like best about it. In the good weather, we hope you'll enjoy sunsets from your room or one of our decks. If out and about on errands, we are always reachable by phone and encourage all questions about the area. We also have on hand some detailed, written materials to highlight services and areas of interest to travelers. "Lake people" is how we like to think of ourselves, as do our neighbors! We all have our own ways of enjoying the lake, and ours is pretty low key, we do not own any motorized playthings! However, they're allowed on the lake and it can be quite active with them in summer. The property is not isolated, but in a residential area on a quiet street. Most services 10-15 minutes by car. There is parking for one car in the driveway beyond the garages we use. Additional car(s) must park in the road. You will need a car to get around; however, visitors to/from Boston might consider taking the train from Boston into Lowell, the town adjacent to us, if you plan to stay put. You could also rent a car, taxi or Uber/Lyft. There are limited bus services in the area. There are a couple 'pizza/sandwich joints' , a variety store and a nightclub within walking distance. We are not childproofed inside or out. With life vests (yours or ours) we are happy to lend you one or both of our kayaks. Floats, tubes, etc. are fine to bring and use in summertime. A light, cold breakfast will be provided as well as coffee or tea. Water is entirely drinkable. You'll need to bring your gear/bait if you plan to fish from the kayak or small deck. The brochure in the suite describes many things to see and do in the area, or see our guidebook through Airbnb. The brochure includes suggestions for travel in New England.
