The Old Bull Pen
The Bull Pen is on a quiet farm with only a few sheep. It is surrounded by fields and the beautiful Welsh countryside. You will see the lambs playing in the spring and the pony grazing peacefully in the field. The chickens are free range around the farm and fresh eggs if they are laying are given to guests on arrival to the cottage. The Bull Pen has a large fenced garden which is great for dogs and children. Converted from the old farm bull pen, the space makes full use of the original structure of the building, with large windows allowing plenty of light. There is geothermal underfloor heating which gives a wonderful radiant heat through out. The Bull Pen has a very spacious, light and well equipped kitchen with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, large fridge and a freezer, dishwasher etc. There is plenty of storage space and a large central dining table and chairs with windows all around to be able to enjoy the ever-changing scenery. The utility room has more storage space with a washing machine and a drying area for laundry. The warm and comfortable sitting room has sofas and chairs set around a wood burning stove which creates a lovely cosy atmosphere. The first basket of wood supplied with everything else you need to get the fire going! There is a large flat screen TV with DVD and i-pod docking system, a music system with radio and a good supply of games and books in the games room. French doors lead out to the stone terrace with garden furniture, BBQ and a lawn with an old oak tree. In the warmer months the lovely sunny patio and garden furniture is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings with a glass of wine or a cup of tea! There is another room down a couple of steps that has the snooker table, this room has double doors and a sofa bed so if there are five visitors in the party it can be a third (Website hidden by Airbnb) bedrooms are both on the ground floor: Bedroom 1: The master bedroom with a king-size bed. There are many notably superb places to eat close by. These include two Michelin starred restaurants, The Walnut Tree and The Crown at Whitebrook. The Bull Pen is also within easy reach of the Bell at Skenfrith, and the Hardwick Restaurant. In Abergavenny you will find other exciting places to eat there is prize-winning afternoon tea at the Angel, you could get a trendy coffee in the Bean and Bread, for local pub food there is the Growfield pub, or a spot of lunch at The Chapel. The Bull Pen is 3 miles from the local market town Abergavenny. Abergavenny has been a market town for centuries and holds markets on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday in and behind the town Hall. Every September Abergavenny holds a fantastic and extremely popular food festival. There is plenty of space for 2 cars
