This old house is situated right in the heart of the historic centre just a few metres away from the fortress. It has three floors, four large bedrooms, a functional kitchen,spacious living room, dining room,three bathrooms and a cosy wellness area. There are four rooms in "La Rocca" which include two doubles and two singles all tastefully furnished with great attention to detail and the finishes maintain much of the original structure. Two of the rooms are on the first floor and two on the second floor. It is also possible to add four extra beds making a total of 10. The house is ideal for families and groups. This old house is situated right in the heart of the historic centre just a few metres away from the magnificent Roveresca fortress. It has three floors and in addition to the bedrooms there is a functional kitchen, spacious living room, dining room, three bathrooms and a cosy wellness area. From the windows, small balcony and spacious solarium terrace there is a splendid view of the Fortress and the gentle profile of the hills of the Cesano Valleys. What was once the old cellar now houses the exclusive wellness area available to guests. Here they can relax in the corner bar, enjoy a relaxing shower, jacuzzi, chromotherapy and massages. There are also bathrooms and changing cubicles. The town of Mondavio has unanimously been acknowledged as an outstanding historical and environmental Italian town (the array of awards it has received is testimony of such excellence, including the Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club, the Green Flag of the CIA, etc.) It is part of the upper Marches territory in which art, culture, tradition and landscape give expression to a unique entity of extraordinary charm which has contributed to defining the Marches as “Italy in one Region”. FANO: an ancient city which was an important holy centre during the Roman era. Its name refers to the temple Fanum dedicated to the Goddess of Fortune. The symbol of the town is the Arch of Augustus and the Walls built by order of the selfsame Emperor. Events: the oldest carnival in Italy; Fano international film: this festival takes place once a year in October and presents a selection of International short and 30/60 minute films. MAROTTA: It is the Blue Flag of Europe. Events: at the end of April there is the local festival of “garagoi” (small sea snails which live in saltwater); Festival of trawl fishing: a historical commemoration of traditional trawl fishing. SENIGALLIA: It is everywhere adorned with the Blue Flag. It is famous for its “velvet” beaches. Events: The Summer Jamboree: an international festival of music from the 50s. It takes place once a year in August and lasts a week. A TASTE OF CULTURE: In just thirty minutes it is possible to reach URBINO, a legacy to all humanity being the birthplace of the painter Raffaello Sanzio as well as housing the ancient and prestigious University "Carlo Bo". Visitors can admire the magnificent Ducal Palace and adjoining art gallery of the Marches in addition to the imposing cathedral with its adjoining diocesan museum. FONTE AVELLANA: It is possible to visit the Basilica of Santa Croce with its ancient monastery founded by S. Romualdo round about the year 1000. The ancient crypt and scriptorium are distinctive for their antiquity and beauty of form. The hermitage was mentioned in the Divine Comedy (Paradiso, canto XXI) by Dante Alighieri, who may have also been a guest there. It does not take long to reach the following towns of interest: GRADARA: Famous for its majestic castle which was the theatre for the tragic love story between Paolo and Francesca described by Dante Alighieri in the V canto of the Inferno. GUBBIO: Famous for its historic CERI race in honour of the patron S.Ubaldo, which is held on 15th May. It is worth admiring the splendid Consul Palace. CAGLI: An historic town noted for its theatre and numerous churches which contain rich treasures of art. Of particular note are the Town Hall (Palazzo Comunale) and the Tower (Torrione) with its evocative secret walkway, both works of the Sienese architect Francesco Di Giorgio Martini. Events: Procession of the Dead Christ on Good Friday, the Goose Race on the second Sunday of August and the Pipe Festival in May. ACQUALAGNA: It is one of the most important centres in Italy for the truffle trade including such valued truffles as the White truffle of Acqualagna, the Black truffle of Norcia, the Bianchetto and Scorzone. MONTE CATRIA - FRONTONE (PU): The entire massif of Catria is suitable for easy to difficult treks, naturalist excursions, mountain bikes and equestrian excursions. Almost all the trails have been signposted by the CAI, Italian Alpine Club and of these it is worth mentioning the European Trail, the Frassati Trail (23 kilometres long) and the famous “Italy Trail” in which the tract bordering the Marches and Umbria represents a characteristic part due to the richness and variety of environments.
