This beautiful Victorian home is perfect for large groups or families traveling together. The home is centrally located, Amish attractions, Sight and Sound, Strasburg Railroad, outlet shopping all with in 10 minutes drive, 20 minutes from Downtown Lancaster. Hersheypark, Ski Roundtop, and Hershey Chocolate World all within an hours drive. We can also accommodate 6 more guests in the adjoining Innkeepers Quarters. (see other homes by this host) No parties or loud music. Quiet after 10pm. The home was built in 1877 by John Lightner as a wedding gift for his daughter Cecilia and her husband John Steele Witmer. The home is in a quiet neighborhood if you are looking for a place to party, please look elsewhere. Quiet hours begin at 10pm. The home has 3 flights of stairs. Bedrooms 1, 2, and 3 are located on the 3rd floor. Bedroom 1 (king bed) has a private bath and whirlpool tub. Access to bedroom 3 (queen bed, twin bed) is through bedroom 2 (king bed) with a shared bath and whirlpool tub area. Bedrooms 4 (queen bed, twin bed) and 5 (queen bed) are on the 2nd floor. Bedroom 4 has a bath access off the hallway. Bedroom 5 has a private bath. The 2nd floor hallway has a settee and chairs for a nice reading area. On the main floor you will find a very spacious living room with a large sectional, a loveseat, and 2 chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with the essentials for cooking. There is a table and chairs for six plus 4 additional folding chairs in the hall closet. Additional tables and chairs are available upon request. The powder room is also on the main floor. The large front porch has a small table and chairs a perfect spot to enjoy your coffee. There is a large yard and several outdoor seating areas, please note these outdoor spaces are shared with the guests in the Innkeepers Quarters. Guests are welcome to use the patio/gazebo in the back yard. This space is shared with guests in the Inn keepers Quarters as well as the grill area on the back deck. Please respect doors marked private. If you are looking for a place to party, please look elsewhere. We live only a few minutes away and will be available for anything you should need. The huge tree in the side yard is a swamp oak and was transplanted to the property in 1880 when it was 25 yrs old. it is the second oldest tree of its kind on record in PA. Guests are welcome to use the patio/gazebo area in the backyard. Please note this is a shared space with the guests in the Innkeepers Quarters as well as the side patio and grill/deck area. We recommend a vehicle for the duration of your stay, however Uber and Lift are available. Please keep noise down after 10pm. Be considerate of guests in the Innkeepers Quarters, this is an old home some noise through the walls is possible. The backyard patio and gazebo area as well as the grill area and deck and the back patio are shared spaces with the guests in the Innkeepers Quarters. Please respect the privacy of our tenants in the barn.
