Welcome to our little corner of the gastronomique town of Saulieu, set on the edge of the parc naturel du morvan. Our traditional french townhouse offers you a quiet and comfortable place to stay with shops and restaurants within a minutes walk of the house. Following a total renovation of our home we invite you to stay in one of our three self contained studio apartments, each apartment is stylishly furnished and has its own kitchen or kitchenette, private ensuite shower room and a living/bedroom space. Our accommodation concept is to offer you the quality and comfort of a 4 star hotel room with high quality ensuite bathrooms and the benefit of your own kitchen space for making your own breakfast and meals. Check in time is flexible as you access the apartment with a coded key box and you will feel very much at home in your own private space. Our town offers a good selection de restaurants that you can walk to and cafés in town that also offer breakfast. There are many boulangeries and food shops offering an authentic french experience, as well as a fanatistic saturday food market. The Garden suite offers access to our large rear garden (shared with us) and it has its own private terrace area. The Forest suite and Boudoir Suite have access to a shared courtyard with seating at the front of the property. We have easy and free onstreet parking near to the house and bike storage in the front courtyard accessible to all apartments. Set on the edge of the parc naturel du Morvan there are walking and biking trails on foot from the house and the nearest swimming lake is 5 minutes drive. Behind the house is a large public swimming pool open in July and August. ADULTS ONLY, No Pets. Smokers are welcome to use the terrace, all our apartments are strictly no smoking inside. La suite du jardin This ground floor self contained studio apartment has its own private entrance from the courtyard and its own private covered terrace at the rear with a sofa area and this leads onto a beautiful landscaped garden (the garden is shared with us and our 3 chihuahuas). Refurbished in 2018 the apartment combines contemporary furniture with older architectural features such as painted beams and exposed stone walls. Our clients find it offers a cosy private space ideal for a quiet couples holiday. Inside the apartment: The front door leads into a kitchenette which has a 2 ring hob, microwave, small oven, fridge with freezer compartment, sink and storage space. There is a senseo coffee machine and kettle. Kitchen basics and cooking utensils are provided, along with a steam iron. Adjacent there is a luxury shower room with a window, travertine tiles, shower with rainshower head, wc. Toiletries and a hairdryer are provided. A door leads down two steps into the living and sleeping space, here you will find a 160cm double bed with memory foam mattress, feather pillows and duvet and 100% Cotton or linen sheets, There is hanging space for your clothes and a chest of drawers. There is a comfortable 2 seater sofa along with a coffee table and dining table and chairs. There is a smart TV with netflix application and french TV channels. You will have access to the ground floor of the house with a courtyard at the front and garden behind (shared with us) There is private entrance into a kitchenette area with fridge/freezer, hob, coffee machine, kettle, microwave and mini oven. Next door there is a shower room with natural travertin stone tiles and a rain shower head. A door leads into the bed/livingroom which is spacious has a sofa and small dining table. There is french TV and wifi. We live on the first floor and are happy to help you, but we will mostly be at work/leave you in peace. Saulieu is famous for being the home of michelin starred restaurant and spa complex 'Bernard Loiseau' (well worth a visit). It's saturday food market is also very popular. It's a traditional small french town, much unchanged, with a nice church and friendly people. If you are looking for the authentic france, here you will not be disappointed, the small shops in town give you the real france: Fromagerie, boucherie, cave a vins, boulangerie, chocolaterie, its the antidote to big city branding. Behind our house there is a large lido swimming pool and tennis courts, and you can walk into the forest from the edge of the town. Numerous mountain bike routes from the house. The parc naturel du morvan is very beautiful rolling hills and large lakes, a landscape unchanged in centuries and a protected nature reserve. If you prefer to visit the nearby towns you will find plenty to see in Dijon and Vezelay (unesco heritage site) and around Beaune (40 mins) you will find great restaurants and wine tasting in the worlds most famous vineyards. Parking is free in the town and easy to come by. If you have a special vehicle we can accommodate you in our secure garage upon request. Its better to visit the region with a car, but if you don't want to drive you can get the TGV to Montbard (1hr from Paris) and there is a connecting bus to Saulieu, we are a couple of mins walk from the bus stop. You can get a bus to Dijon or Semur en Auxois for the day. There is a taxi office in town.
