Sally-Anne Wertheimer welcomes you to The Old School, offering Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a beautiful 17th century house in a tranquil corner of a pretty Cotswold village near Bicester in North Oxfordshire and yet minutes from towns, motorway and local sights. The upstairs Double room is traditional, cosy and charming with its 400 year old character and is decorated in fresh white and red and is furnished with a blissfully comfortable queen bed with white linen, dressing table, fitted wardrobe and shelves, wash hand basin, tea/coffee tray and free wifi, having views across the back lawn and fields beyond. Shared bathroom. Use of a washing machine and drying rack are available in wash room. Dogs are not allowed in the bedroom but are welcome to stay downstairs in back area. Apart from the bedrooms and the bathrooms, all guests have access to a very large and bautiful sitting room with a chandelier to where they can get together and spend time with each other comfortably. The sitting room can be accessible any time during their stay as it is for sole use of guests. All guests have access to the kitchen for breakfast and by arrangement before dinner but are not allowed to stay there for long periods of time as the owner uses that room as her personal room. All guests have access to the garden during the summer as it has chairs and tables for them to sit on and enjoy the outdoor breeze. For 34 years, Sally-Anne, who loves people, has been running this charming Cotswold Bed and Breakfast. She warmly welcomes you to her happy home with tea and home-made cakes served on arrival. The Old School provides clean and comfortable accommodation in a traditional style with antiques and pictures in a peaceful setting. You are welcome to book the whole house - 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen plus drawing room - for a minimum of two nights. Please ask for availability. Sally-Anne speaks French. Situated in a pretty, rural Oxfordshire village, The Old School is a quirky conversion, cleverly combining a 17th century farmhouse, thought to be the oldest property in the village, giving a cosy cottage feel, with a Victorian school built in 1852, having high elegant rooms. It is within driving distance of stations (5 minutes), motorways (10 minutes) and airports (1 hour). There are many of taxi's available to reach our local town of Bicester from where there are trains and buses to Oxford and London and other locations. For guests that have bicycles, we have a shed for you to store your bicylcles in for safety. Note: We have two very friendly black labradors and one cat.
