Au Pied de la Roche, Gite 2

The Gites are located in the medieval rural village of Roche-en-Regnier, with wonderful views of the Ardeche mountains. An idyllic location for all outdoor pursuits. A warm welcome awaits you. The new centrally heated gite is contained within a modernised old barn. Comprising a living room with tv/dvd player, free wifi, sofabed and coffee-table. The integral kitchen is fully equipped and has an electric hob and oven, fridge-freezer and dining area with table and chairs. The bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bathroom has a handbasin, wc and shower. A washing machine and drying facilities are available free of charge. All bed linen, towels are provided and changed twice per week. The Gite sleeps 4 people, with a double bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge. Guests have full use of the covered summer terrace with lounge, dining table and barbecue facilities along with use of a sunny terrace with tables, umbrellas and sun loungers etc.. Ample safe parking is available on the premises. We both know the area extremely well and are keen walkers. We are able to advise on walking trails, site seeing options, local restaurants and sporting interests. We purchased the farmhouse in 2006 and slowly, lovingly and sympathetically to tradition, restored it over the years. The old barn has been converted into 2 gites, which are now available for rental. What initially attracted us to the area was a love of the outdoors, as we are keen walkers. The flora and fauna is amazing and views to die for. It was love at first sight. The gite is located in a beautifully restored old farmhouse set in the medieval rural village of Roche-en-Regnier at 900 metres. There are wonderful views of the Ardeche mountains and the St Jacques de Compostelle walking trail passes directly in front of the house. Walk from the front door into beautiful unspoilt countryside. Wildlife abounds. Peace and tranquillity and a sense of bygone days. Your holiday gite has stunning views over the surrounding undulating countryside - the perfect setting for your restful break from the hurly-burly of modern life. Ten mins to Vorey-sur-Arzon for good restaurants, shops, swimming pools, canoe hire. Ideal place for exploring the area. Activities include fishing, hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, hang-gliding, riding, swimming, winter skiing (downhill and cross country), husky dog trips from the village, snow shoeing. Visit the historic town of Le-Puy-en-Velay, see the source of the River Loire at Mont Gerbier and the internationally acclaimed town of Chaise Dieu renowned for it's classical music concerts. You can visit the lava flow of La Coulee de Lave close to the unique forgotten village of Chateau de Chalencon. The region offers so much for tourists, both in winter and summer. As this property is situated in the countryside a car is essential.
