Vale View Apartment, Prestatyn (Dog-friendly)

VVA is a large, town-centre, 1-bedroom apartment in a 122-year old Victorian overlooking the hillside town of Prestatyn: SLEEPS 3-4 (standard double bed, single fold-out bed, travel cot + kids ready bed); bathroom has a bath + electric shower; kitchen has a cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee-maker, washing machine etc.; lounge-diner has 7' sofa + table for 4. With train/bus station, high street + retail park opposite, and the beach a 5-minute walk away, it's a great place to stay! As the name suggests, Vale View Apartment offers a great view of the Vale of Clwyd at Prestatyn. The apartment is on the top (2nd floor, reached by stairs and lift) in the town's most iconic building, the former Victoria Hotel (1897), conveniently situated a short walk from the station for train travellers and offering a small car park at the rear for drivers, as well as plenty of free street parking all around. We've been holiday-letting Vale View Apartment since 2015 and it's Apartment singular because we only offer 1 property in the 19th century apartment building, which was the town's 'Grand’ hotel until the late 20th century, but is still home to this former hotel’s remaining bar, newly-refurbished in September 2018. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: The apartment itself is a 1-bed self-contained flat with a standard double bed in the bedroom and a folding single bed for extra guests, which can be set up in the lounge. There's a travel cot for babies and an inflatable Ready-bed for little ones. All bedding for all beds/cots is provided and beds will be ready-made up. The 7 foot-long leather sofa in the lounge can also be slept on by extra guests, so the flat can sleep up to 4 adults plus a baby and toddler, if guests choose. We also offer baby feeding/changing facilities, and a dog bed and bowls for well-behaved pets =) THE TOWN: The High Street and Parc Prestatyn are a minute's walk away when you take a right out of the building, and continuing further in this direction there are mountainside walks (Offas Dyke) offering great views across the Vale. Turn left out of the building and walk 5 minutes down the road and you'll hit the beach and the Wales Coast Path. It couldn't be better placed! Guests have access to all shared entrance/exits, stairwells and lift. The apartment is self-contained with a bedroom, bathroom, lounge-diner and kitchen. We live half a mile away and meet our guests personally at the building to show you around and leave you the key. As per our handful of 'Rules', we won't disturb you during your stay but if we need to gain access to deal with a maintenance issue/rule infraction/clean (in the case of longer stays) etc. we will let you know we're coming and knock before entering. Whether your stay is for work or play, Prestatyn provides something for everyone. Nestled in the Vale of Clwyd - a designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ in the foothills of the Snowdonia - to the South is the backdrop of the Clwydian range, and the mountains of Snowdonia itself can be seen to the East. To the North is our award-winning beach, a massive expanse of sand and sea with a dune walk as far and beyond as Talacre to the East, with its lighthouse made famous by the Dulux Adverts. To the West the well maintained promenade takes walkers and cyclists along the seafront as far as Rhyl Harbour. The town itself has seen a surge of investment recently so whether it’s the latest fashion or a locally-made souvenir, you can find it at our modern new retail park at the bottom of the unique and traditional High Street, with its own digital (3D) multi-screen cinema (established 1913) amidst artisan shops and global cuisine from the Asian of Rasam’s Spice, the Americana of Subway, to the British traditional of Tudor House and Kim's Kitchen. And we should add the award-winning Suhail and swanky Paanshee as well as the seaside-staple of Karl’s Chippy, are close enough for guest to literally stumble to, and if you don’t even want to leave your room there are plenty of Turkish takeaways and Pizza deliveries on offer too! For those wanting to see what the rest of North Wales offers, world-famous Welsh Castles are on the doorstep with Rhuddlan, Conwy and Caernarvon just a short drive down the A55, on the way passing the Spa town of Llandudno (with its famed vista of Victorian and Edwardian hotels) and the University town of Bangor (and for those who remember the 70s, didn’t we have a lov-er-ley time!). And for those with time to venture further, the Mother of Wales, ‘Ynys Môn’, otherwise known as the Isle of Anglesey, takes you as for as the road goes. Medieval history and timeless landscapes aside, animal lovers are provided for too with the Welsh Mountain Zoo at Colwyn Bay and Puffin Island off the Menai Strait. If it’s action you’re after, you’ll find the world’s fastest and Europe’s longest zip line at Zip World in Bethesda, flying above the unbeatably bouncy experience of trampolining in the rainbow-lit slate caverns of Blaenau Ffestiniog-based Bounce Below. While Prestatyn offers a genteel nightlife of pubs and wine bars (from the Victoria's own public bar on the ground floor to the William Morgan, Archie’s/Lola’s and Bar 236 ) and restaurants (from the family-friendly Cook House at one end of the High Street to the old world romance of La Ricetta at the other, via the utterly charming Chynna Garden in the centre), if you’re looking for city-style nightlife, Chester and its famed Tudor Rows are just over half an hour away. And if you have to work during your stay, then the metropolises of Manchester and Liverpool are within an acceptable commute for experienced city workers. So: seaside, check; countryside, check; shopping, check; history, check; wildlife, check; activities, check; nightlife, check; city commuter-belt, check. And we think you’ll agree, that’s why Prestatyn is a pretty perfect destination! If you let the train take the strain then Prestatyn Station connects us with the East and right down to London Euston in the South, via Chester/Crewe offering changes to the Midlands, or continuing through the of hub of Milton Keynes. To the West the line takes you right to the end at Holyhead, from which port Ireland is a short hop across the Irish Channel. We recommend Diane’s as the best local taxi service, Diane herself being the Victoria’s landlady, so you’re assured a warm welcome! For drivers we're equally accessible, with the A55 linking us to the border via the M53/M56 and onto the M6 to head North and as far as Gretnor Green, or South and down to London via the M42/M40 or the A50/M1. The apartment building does have its own small car park and parking is available on a first-come-first-served basis, reservation is not possible but should it be full at any time, there is plenty of free on-street parking.
