Kia ora and welcome to Chaparral Sunset. Whether you are a couple, a family or a group you will find everything you need in our homely self-contained accommodation. We are perfectly positioned for anyone who wants to enjoy the local sights around the Pukekohe region (5 min drive) and easily accessible to the Auckland CBD ( 40 minutes away) driving or by train. This cosy guest house has Sky TV, wireless internet, a guest BBQ and well equipped kitchen. The perfect place to escape and unwind. Relax in two spacious sunny living areas, totally private from the main house and away from the main road. This is a secure, gated property in the heart of the rural district of Buckland with ample parking for bigger vehicles and trailers, horse floats, boats or campers. Staying here is an opportunity to experience this desirable area like a local. The fully equipped kitchen is complete with electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and includes all crockery and cooking utensils. Additionally, a 40 inch TV (with sky), mini speaker, hair dryer, iron, and ironing board is available. Connected to the guest unit and just for your use is a wash house which contains washing machine, tumble drier indoor drying rack and second toilet and basin. The second bedroom contains a super king bed, single bed and there is plenty of room for a mattress on the floor. This a very large warm private space which has external access only to the cottage. A porta-cot (including mattress) is available on request if required. Pets are welcome, but please discuss with the hosts in advance. A 'welcome' complementary breakfast of bread, eggs, yoghurt, milk, tea, coffee, and a selection of cereals and canned fruit is provided on arrival. We have a herb garden next to the main house, please help yourself to any of the herbs for cooking. We encourage guests to walk around the farm and enjoy the peaceful rural setting. Please close any gates behind you as you go. Your hosts Lyn and Keith are pleased to welcome you into their rural guest house for your stay, and are known for their warm hospitality. Experience a slice of kiwi rural living on the back step of the Auckland region. Guests are able to use all outdoor spaces around the area. Vehicles can be parked outside the accommodation and undercover parking is available for one vehicle. If you would prefer that a key was left in a box near the unit before arrival then please ask the hosts in advance. Otherwise we will be happy to meet and greet on arrival. We are next door and available if you need anything. The unit is private and quiet, your privacy is guaranteed. Pukekohe is known for its rich and fertile volcanic soils. Growing crops for the harvesting of seasonal vegetables, as well as sheep and beef farming is the main income in the area. Pukekohe Township has many cafe's, bars and restaurants, a cinema, lots of super stores, Pukekohe Park race track and Hampton Downs. For an afternoon of sight seeing, Port Waikato (Sunset Beach) is a scenic drive only 25 minutes away. This where the mighty Waikato River, the largest in New Zealand, meets the ocean. It's a small coastal community with lots of bach's, a nice surf beach, a cafe (in the summer), and is great for a walk along the sand dunes at sunset. Waiuku is an easy 30 minute drive, beyond is the fascinating Awhitu Peninsula and Kariotahi Beach (take your jacket as its always windy). Hamilton with its zoo and beautiful botanical gardens is less than an hour. Sunday morning is a time to enjoy the famous Clevedon Farmers Market. If you feel like a cosy chat by the fire I would recommend the Tuakau Hotel, ( 5 minutes) then grab some fish and chips from The Fish Shop across the road on your way home. Pukekohe is 3 km away and the nearest hub to any public transport. The train station (5 min drive) connects to the Auckland CBD (Britomart Station) with a commute of just over one hour. There is no public transport to the property. Please also note, we have a very friendly Chocolate Labrador called 'Rusty' who may come and meet you on arrival. Please don't let Rusty inside, he is an outside dog. We are happy to tie him up if you prefer. Smoking and vaping is allowed, but not inside.
