La Casa Del Mandorlo (The house by an almond tree)

The house is located in Cappero (the area of Lipari). The house was originally built in 1900 and was refurbished in 2012. It is a traditional Aeolian style villa. Facing the front yard is a wooden awning supported by Aeolian style pillars called 'pulera'. The seafront terrace overlooking the Vulcano Island is surrounded by a low-rising platform called 'bisola' delicately adorned with Sicilian ceramic tiles. The house is surrounded by 1500 square metres of garden space. It is a great place for nature loving people as one can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Vulcano Island. In the surrounding area, there are also a few hiking tracks that take you to the beaches (such as 'Spiaggia della Secca' or 'Spiaggia delle Scisserie') or to the southernmost part of the Lipari Island with a great view of the sea stacks. It is a suitable place for a relaxing and meditative holiday away from the chaos of the big cities. There are little things to be enjoyed, such as having breakfast gazing the twinkling blue ocean in calm silence and having dinner with a loved one by a candlelight. The guest can access to an entire house plus a kitchenette with an outdoor barbeque and wood-fired oven. The outdoor shower can also be used. The house is only accessible by a narrow path (approx. 600 metres long) leading to the Urso bus stop. From there, the Urso bus service transports passengers to Lipari centre. It takes about 10 minutes on foot to reach the Urso bus stop. It is recommended that a guest or guests rent a scooter, a quad or a small vehicle. A private parking area with a gate is available right near the house. There are various shops that rent scooters or small vehicles in the town centre. Please note that wifi access and air-conditioning are not available in this house. The guest/s will be provided with two fans.
