Artistically renovated gite with courtyard and pleasant views on the edge of a tiny and pretty Pyrenean Village. The house is set in a tranquil, unspoilt wooded valley of the Boucheville Forest, and one of Europe's most wonderfully diverse landscapes. The area is largely wild and sparsely populated. Threeroofs is the perfect base to relax and immerse yourself in the surrounding nature and also from which to explore the local area and it's numerous sites of archaelogical/historical interest. Threeroofs has been carefully rennovated as you will appreciate , with a high emphasis on local stone and wood and lots of windows, making the house at one with it's environment for the wellbeing of those who stay here . The house is surrounded by some 40 different tree species and many bird nesting boxes which have hosted owls and wrynecks amongst others. The Arches interior (70sqm) , which is lovely and cool through the Summer heat, is open plan, and spacious with two sets of French doors opening onto the main courtyard with its grape and kiwi vines. There is garden furniture, parasol and BBQ facilities; The kitchen contains fridgefreezer, electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, kettle and all other necessary utensils. Dining/livingroom with woodburner and small library leads to a curtained-off space with double bed and also a bathroom with bath/shower. Adjoining the living area is the twin room with ensuite shower room, sink and toilet, and a small east facing patio with views down the valley. Adjoining the gite there is a splendid games room with table tennis, darts and board games and a restaurant where simple, tasty, healthy soups and meals made with local ingredients are served. An impressive scale model of the solar system hangs above. There are many features around the house including fortifications, an aqueduct and water cistern with goldfish. Within the courtyard there is a cosy (4sqm) Finnish, wood fired sauna for use in the Winter (€20 per session) Free firewood for house woodburner (Winter only) and wifi. There is an aromatic herb garden which guests are welcome to use. Easy access , gite entirely on the ground floor. Owner will welcome you and hand over the keys and is on site and available for general help or enquiries. The owner is well acquainted with the local area and is in a position to offer his own unique guided wildlife walks of varying distances on which guests are introduced to secret paths, places and the tantalising views and glimpses which encompass the extraordinary biodiversity and geological spleandour of the local area. One of the most beautiful and naturally diverse places in Europe in terms of landscapes and wildlife with an astonishing variety of trees and birds. limited public bus service so own car largely required for longer distances but otherwise walking is by far the recommended way to fully appreciate the surroundings. There is a second appartment on the first floor which may be occupied by other guests. Free firewood. Plenty of kindling available for collection in the surroundings. No Dogs please
