Picturesque 1 room screened-in cabin on Blue Heron Pond in 13 acres of woods in Brattleboro, Vt. Just 3 miles from downtown. The cabin (100 sq ft) has electricity. Modern composting toilet out-house. Quiet sanctuary to create, dream, read, sleep, walk the woods. Comfy queen size thick foam mattress with a bed topper. All the fun of camping but comforts of home already provided. The cabin is a short 3 minute walk down a hill, from your parking place to the pond and cabin. Blue Heron Pond - Is the inspiration for the books of poems - "Vermont My Home on Blue Heron Pond" and "Celebrate Life" by Namaya the poet - host. This is a wonderful space to create, dream, relax, and wonder. A nice combination of a Thoreauian experience with modern conveniences. WiFi at main house's porch, (or use your phone's mobile hot spot). Cooking amenities includes a microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle and heavy duty ice chest. Outdoor gas grill and an open fire pit. The cabin is not heated, but there is an electric blanket. Bathe in pond or shower at main house. Walk through all of this 13 acre woodland sanctuary and swim/ skinny dip in the sublime healing waters of Blue Heron Pond. Parking is about a 3 minute walk up/down a hill. As available, we would be happy to meet and chat with guests. But this private sanctuary is so sublime... you may just want to have the time to be tranquil. We are just 1.5 miles from an historic covered bridge on 13 acres surrounded by undeveloped woodland and friendly neighbors. There are so many things to do... hiking, tennis, biking, running, walking in the woods,and just savoring the beauty of Southern Vermont! Lots of restaurants, microbreweries, shopping and live music all minutes away. There is a train that runs from NYC once a day and buses from Boston and NY. There is a taxi service in town, however, if we are available we can pick you up from the train/bus. We have ample room to park here. There are bicycles on site which can be borrowed. Though you will find it totally tranquil...Blue Heron Pond is less than 3 miles from downtown Brattleboro... lots of music, restaurant, entertainment galore. This is an outdoor, hiking, biking, walking, kayaking/canoeing paradise.
