Tirimoana Terrace, Anakiwa, Marlborough
Our holiday bach has proven to be a wonderful base to explore the magnificent Marlborough Sound and Queen Charlotte Walk Way, to charge the personal batteries and deepen relationships. Guests from Wellington took the connecting boat to the Tirimoana jetty straight off the ferry. Friends used it to improve fitness and successfully competed in the Ironman in Taupo. ( by swimming between the Anakiwa jetty and Tirimoana jetty: about 45 minutes, cycling to Portage and back: 2h 50min, and running to Davies Bay: about 40min, and half way point: 1h.10min,) The BBQ has been used by some well known New Zealanders to cook up gastronomic feasts. The kayaks have been used to pick some mussels and explore the Sounds Native pigeons, wax-eyes, robins, fantails, weka's, Tui's and bell birds entertain the eyes against the fern tree clad background. The sound of the gentle running creek ensures restful sleeps. Arriving will be easy, Leaving very hard. The main house has 2 bedrooms: the master bedroom and a single bedroom with a bunk bed. The beds are standard 80cm wide, which some people feel is narrow The sleep-out which is separate of the house has been renovated and is ready for the summer holiday season. The sleepout has a toilet, basin and a cold shower The house has road access. There is a boat ramp close by. There is a single and double kayak with the house and kayak and mountain bike hire 2km down the road The house is not suitable for small children due to the high decking around the house, where they could fall off. The house/sleepout accommodates 4 comfortably, but has a Queen, double and 2x2 bunk beds (8 sleeping spaces in total) Special conditions: If you use our linen, please wash and dry it (washing machine and dryer on site) Extras: Linen (Optional, NZ$10.00 per person); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and wash/dry the dishes before you leave;
