Quaint Efficiency in the Woods.

Get away from the noise of being in town and enjoy the quiet of being in the middle of the woods without being far away from the convenience of town. This location is a hidden gem tucked away and private. The apartment is a small two room efficiency above the garage and has a private entrance. There is a fire pit and plenty of fire wood if you want to cook hotdogs over a fire or just sit and relax. The front yard has a pond stocked with fish that you are welcome to catch, but please release. There is a King bed in the bedroom that can be converted to two twin beds. There is also a Queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The apartment is 7 miles from the C&O Canal trailhead at mile 99 (Cushwa Basin), 11 miles from The Hagerstown Prime Outlets, 11 miles from Whitetail Ski Resort, 19 miles from Antietam Battlefield, 37 miles from Gettysburg, 77 miles from DC. For guests who are coming for medical rotations or treatment at Meritus Medical Center, it is about 20 minutes from the apartment. There is a small portable fire pit available upon request and plenty of firewood on the property and pond in the front yard (fishing only, no swimming). We live in the house on the property, so if you need anything, you can call, text, or knock on the door. We will respect your privacy and not bother you, but contact us anytime if there is a problem or you have any questions. We live in the middle of wooded property so it is normally very quiet and peaceful. Be mindful that because we live in a wooded area, there are some woodland critters (nothing dangerous) in the area, especially at night. The apartment is located only a few miles from Rt. 70, Rt. 81, and Rt. 40, so there is easy access to anywhere you want to go. PA and WV are also only a few miles away. Please park in the back behind the garage. There is plenty of parking and you access the apartment entrance through the fence in the backyard.
