Jasna and other alpine ski centres are just 20 minutes away by car in both directions, the cross country ski routes also doubling up as mountain bike routes in the summer. As the region is built on thermal springs, there is an abundance of spas and water parks, including Tatralandia - the Alton Towers of water adventures - a 30 minute drive away. Hotel Permon, 15 minutes drive, has a large and particularly luxurious spa and swimming pool. Only a few minutes walk are the quaint village of Pribylina and the Open Air Museum, both well worth a visit. The Orensnica restaurant, offering traditional Slovakian fayre is just over a mile away on one of the many trails through the pine forests leading up the mountains. The celebrated 13th century Castle Hradok is found in the next village of Liptovsky Hradok and boasts an impressive international menu in sumptuous surroundings. Nearby Liptovsky Mikulas houses many restaurants and bars and hosts shows and concerts on the town square.
