Peaceful & Private Apartment on the Water

A peaceful haven and home away from home- that's how many have described this one bedroom, one bath apartment (700 sq ft), with fully-furnished kitchen, private patio and separate entrance . We tried to incorporate everything a person would need to be comfortable. We look forward to welcoming you to the Los Fresnos/South Padre Island/Brownsville area! This apartment is connected to our home and hosts live on premises, but it has its own private entrance. The master bedroom features a very comfortable king size bed, desk, dresser, ceiling fan, and 50" TV with cable. The master bathroom is HUGE, with a large walk-in-closet, vanity, toilet stall with grab bars and large walk/roll-in tile shower with separate rain shower head and tub. The apartment has its own central air and heat system and YOU control the thermostat. WiFi is available in the apartment. The living room also has a 39" inch smart TV with cable. The kitchen is fully furnished with a coffee bar, pots, pans, baking dishes, dinnerware, dishtowels, a good assortment of spices, utensils etc. There is a full size fridge, stove and over-the-range microwave. The large counter top in the kitchen gives you plenty of space for meal prep and saddle stools provide seating for two at the bar. The private patio with two rocking chairs and a ceiling fan is a wonderful place to relax in the afternoon with a cold drink. We have birds, squirrels and wild rabbits that visit regularly near dusk. We have ample free parking on-premises. You will be given an electronic code prior to arrival so you may come and go as you please. There is a locked door adjoining the apartment with the main house, where my husband and I reside. We never bother our guests and will not enter the apartment without your permission. This may be a perfect fit for you if you like to winter in South Texas or if you need longer term accommodations. Message me (make an "inquiry" via the Airbnb website) and we can discuss it. Guests may use the washer and dryer which is located in the garage, if you should need to do laundry while here. Just text the host for the garage code. We enjoy visiting with our guests, however we allow YOU to set the pace. We are almost always close by or just a text or phone call away to answer any questions or concerns you may have while here. Los Fresnos is a small but lovely community that has experienced a lot of growth recently. We have a super Walmart (woohoo!) just one mile away, as well as two "dollar" stores and numerous local restaurants where you can get some mighty tasty Mexican food (Julia's, Tapia's, Mario's, Taqueria El Cien), as well as the traditional offerings of McDonald's, Little Caesar's Pizza, Church's Chicken and Subway. Some of the best (and cheapest) breakfast tacos around can be found at the Stripes convenience store. If you are coming to spend time at the beach, South Padre Island is a short 25 minute drive away. Brownsville is 15 minutes away and Harlingen is 20 minutes. We have three airports in the Rio Grande Valley, in Brownsville, Harlingen and McAllen (one hour away). If you fly here, you will need a rental car, as there is very limited public transportation available. Uber and Lyft ride sharing services are also available. We live on a resaca (old river channels of the Rio Grande River that once conveyed flood waters away from the river during times of high flow). There are some beautiful sunsets in the evenings over the resaca. You may sit on the back porch of our home to enjoy that. A small bbq pit is available if you would like to cook outside. We have quiet retired neighbors on one side of us and a large citrus field separates us from the neighbors on the other side.
